Could be the best day of a weak year tomorrow. Only about 10 by end of day but the forecast is for 15 to 20 overnight

It was! 7 during the day yesterday (3 the night before) and 19 over night. It was a cold one though or I am now conditioned to the warmth we have had lately, sat at a constant -18 all morning.

60cm of untouched in the Red pod due to wind holds the last 2 days, every run made was unmolested. Felt like last year's opener again. Finally.

This is pretty much standard after every snow event.
Alberta has the worst snow clearing I have seen anywhere and the number of drivers who don't adjust for the conditions is mind boggling.
You can count on multiple cars in the ditches after every storm, especially from the Casino to Deadmans.

Does anyone know of any deals at Castle. I forgot to buy ahead and don't really want to pay full price tomorrow.

Roads to LL were horrific but surprisingly few people in the ditch.

The crowds were also pretty bad for a Friday.

But there are still powder stashes if you looked for them.

I THINK if you have SSV pass or card you get a deal. Also watch that they are SELLING tickets. Some busy covid days they would cap numbers.

Almost 150cm at some. A real season saver this last storm.

Avalanche conditions are right prime now. Lots of near misses on the avy report yesterday and few reports of big timber being taken down. Good time to enjoy the hill!

Heading to Nelson tomorrow until Thursday. It won't stop snowing in Canmore. Foot and half in the last two days settled one foot in town here. The roads are pure ice with snow on top. Might look like pavement but I promise it is not .

Last two days at Castle have been good, felt pretty shitty leaving Jasper for a 7 hour drive south but after the 10 hours it actually took the skiing has been pretty good. Hoping for much less wind tomorrow and some vis to see what those place actually looks like

The price seems pretty good, although I am not a Marker Griffon binding fan. It looks like 2 gouges, not one, and very poor repair job.

Really good snow at louise and sunshine this weekend. Glorious chalk on north aspects and egde-able groomers with minimal ice.

    The season is not lost!

Great skiing at the resort over the weekend! Hints of spring in the air.

Unfortunately very reactive weekend in the backcountry. Very touchy out there. Ski and ride with care.

Our spring break trip is less than 2 weeks away, so good to see the conditions improving. As an eternal optimist, I'm hoping for some storm action before-at month end.

Who was the dickhead who triggered a slab next to paradise bowl on Sunday? Saw the post on reddit.

Friday/Sat/Sun LL was fantastic, just love that hill. Now trying to figure out what pass to buy this coming year - we typically ski LL and Marmot the most, and essentially never SSV.
