But, playing shell games with IAEA inspectors is SOP for up and coming nuclear nations and doesnt necessarily imply an active weapons program, and probably shouldnt be the basis for armed intervention.

Seems like we are basically just trusting Israel and Mossad on this one. The USA would have NEVER bombed Iran if Israel hadnt started the war (even if we could have been certain the B2s would fly unchallenged). donny got manuevered by Israel into doing their bidding. Full stop. Maybe that is for the best, maybe its not. But donny got played like a fiddle.

No, you misunderstand. Iran hid its weapons research/program in violation of the agreement with Obama prior to Trump withdrawing from JCPOA. Afterwards, in addition to restricting access to certain sites both before and after, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported multiple breaches, including exceeding enrichment limits well beyond the ~3-percent in the agreement to over 83-percent, and substantially increased its stockpile of enriched uranium.

It's also important to note that JCPOA not only didn't restrict Iranian ballistic missile tests (a potential nuclear bomb delivery system) it sunset previous ballistic missile restrictions. Iran also used JCPOA sanction relief to fund Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah, the Houthis, plus various Jihadist groups in Iraq, as well as billions to prop up the Assad regime in Syria.

So did Trump lie about a ceasefire agreement, or did he negotiate one of those ceasefires where everyone keeps shooting at each other?

    Addendum:

Trump's announcement of a ceasefire caught even some of his own top officials by surprise. Israel has not yet confirmed the cease-fire and within hours of the announcement there were fresh Israeli attacks against Iran. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/06/23/w...e=articleShare

    Fucking insane:

As the Islamic Republic of Iran just launched its fourth barrage of ballistic missiles, President Trump posts about the deal again.

We couldn't have made today's "deal" without the talent and courage of our great B-2 pilots, and all of those associated with that operation. In a certain and very ironic way, that perfect "hit," late in the evening, brought everyone together, and the deal was made!!!

    Good question.

I’ve helped a lot of poor people get on medicaid? Like maybe 200-300 people.? But you could say I’m still going hell, but when someone else attacks you with a knife? Time will tell.

Peace Prize? God, people who talk like that really vote. The faux hippie in the White House left the Mullahs in charge when everybody knows a real hippie would've replaced them with the beautiful women with flowing hair

Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

Iran was shooting missiles at Israel an hour after the ceasefire.

Is Israel really aslo "breaking the ceasefire" if they retaliate after Iran's ballistic missile attacks on Israeli cities?

Or is the expectation that Iran can bombard Israel and Israel sits there and takes it and hopes Iran decides to stop suddenly stop shooting each time?

Take it up with him. He’s raging at both, even when told Israel was defending itself. They “dropped loads of bombs, the likes of which he’d never seen!!!”

Planes dropping bombs would defacto mean that Israel broke the ceasefire too. Calm down and quit chugging poor, helpless Izzy’s propaganda

Don't worry, Trump will give Israel his perfect assurance that Iran will cease fire, and it'll be a done deal.

Iran held a 'victory' celebration in Tehran's Revolution Square to commemorate its 'win' against Israel and United States.

In reality what will probably happen is military hardliners take more power away from cleric extremists as well as politicians. Sort of like what happened with Egypt or Pakistan. Hardliners are not the same as extremists. Iranian hardliners will probably wager the Trump admin has little problem with their authoritarian militarized regime as long as it poses little outside threat to the region.

In some sense that scenario is a win for Israel and the United States, but a real loss for any future Iranian electorate

US intel: the strikes "did not destroy the core components of the country’s nuclear program..." "Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium was not destroyed... the centrifuges are largely 'intact.' 'So the (DIA) assessment is that the US set them back maybe a few months, tops"
