That sounds cool and all, and I'm sure that WAS fun. However, we don't get the stick/diesel combo here. We're relegated to the 1.3T + 9 speed AT with a terrible reputation for not being able to figure out what gear it wants to be in. Or last very long. If the US had the combo you got to enjoy, I might not be so harsh on 'em. As per usual, the US gets the lamest versions of everything. But also some of the most expensive as well, as they gotta gussy them all up in higher trim packages, but the most crap engine/trans combos. Just heard VW is launching a new Passat wagon that looks sweet. Europe only tho AFAIK.

Not wrong, but the 2020 election shows us that they’re everywhere, not just tucked away in a tidy little region that’s 1/3 of the country.

On topic, I think the whole Bud Light fiasco to be fascinating. On one hand it gave the phobics a chance to out themselves on a grand stage, it highlighted how daft corporations can be, and it got a bunch of people some nearly free beer.

This continues to be reinforced as truth as more and more of our population moves to these regions to go to school, work and retire.

Call the trucknutz ammosexuals what they are and try not to get any bycatch.
It's the inverse of people who rant about "Californians" without a clue that vast swathes of CA outside of major metros are backwoods AF.

Back to Nissan, the 2nd gen Xterra was fucking awesome, especially in the 6sp MT flavor. I still miss driving mine. But, so many gremlins, and even with my diminutive stature I couldn't sleep in the back.

After getting more acquainted with them, via our Samurai, I agree. This is one of the greatest automotive travesties ever to befall America. Sadly, I fear there will never be anything like them again here in the US. At least not anything that's street legal.

Such impressively sturdy little things. I still can't get over how much we can beat the ever living crap out of ours and it doesn't even phase it whatsoever. They're essentially the closest thing we have to a "modern" Willys (also RIP)

Why did Heineken put their beer in skinny cans like its some kind of White Claw? I'm sure its for packaging/shipping reasons, and more confusing than annoying, but none of my coozies fit when I take em to the beach or pool cause they're all made for normal sized cans.

I'm still not sure why they went away from the stubby bottles either.

It works remarkably well if you fully commit to ICDs.

On the other hand, internal combustion isn't for everyone.

California definitely had backwoods AF places where people would throw that fresh roadkill deer in the back of the pickup. But it’s too big/mobile/changing to have the inbred never left town “y’all ain’t from round here are yuh” of the Midwest/south. For that you need Places where an unencumbered home can be bought for the price of a new pickup, ie not the new urban south.

Back to the Nissan discussion, someone said it best when they said nothing good has happened since they were Datsun. Bring back the 240Z dammit.
I was kind of psyched when my mom said she got a Pathfinder until I saw it, basically a Honda CRV?
what's orange and looks good on hippies?
