Anybody know anything about these? I'm finally getting around to building up a HT frame (Kona Chute) as an urban/commuter/DJ rig (ha! like I'll ever go DJ'ing! but I can dream...) and I need a fork. I want to do this on the cheap, in part because I don't want to drop a grand or more on parts, and in part cuz the bike will get parked & chained on the big college campus nearby.
So Jenson has these 100mm Axel Elite new (well, takeoffs of new bikes) for $69. That's just ridiculously cheap. Will this thing last enough to make it a reasonable deal? I'm just starting to get my urban/trials steeze on, so I pretty much suck and won't be doing any big hucks for a long time (if ever). The next option seems to be a Stance Static for $169 at beyondbikes.com Then there are the myriad of used options.
Please for the love of God someone point me in the right direction.
I have a 100mm Axel Elite on my Gary Fisher Hardtail. Worked fine until I upgraded to a full suspension. I bought mine used on eBay for like $80, so it sounds like you are getting a pretty good deal. Pretty low end shock, but it'll get the job done.
