    PSA cheap Firman generators

These came up in another thread awhile ago, but this is a good sale: ebay has a bunch of Firman generators, sold by them, refurbished, with a 2-year warranty. There's a coupon code on the website for $60 off.

This one was at Costco new earlier in the year for $600 on a sale. Refurb is $240 + tax, free shipping, came to about $267 for me. I bought one.

There are smaller and larger ones available too. There's a dual fuel version of this that can run on propane, for $399 before the code. I got the gas only one:

Nice, I needed a back up generator to run the well and what not. Just got a brand new Duel Fuel 5700/7125w for $369 shipped using code JEB30. Now I hope to never use it...
a positive attitude will not solve all of your problems, but it may annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

My refurb generator arrived. Definitely shows that it was used - signs of dirt /dust, but has been cleaned, and under the access cover looked nice and clean. Added oil and gas, fired right up.

It's little noisy, but it passed my load test just fine - a 1500 watt heat gun and a 1000-1200 (?) watt space heater, both running on full power.

Going to take it on a camp trip next week as a true test, but I think it's a keeper. Full of gas, it's not so heavy that I can't lift it into a truck bed by myself, but heavier than I'd want to carry any distance. Has a nice fold out handle and wheels built in.

You’re at 6,000 + feet too right? Did you get a carb kit for altitude?

I live at about 5800'. I didn't get a different carb kit for altitude - it started and ran fine at home, but I haven't tried it at any higher elevation yet.

    Thanks Mang

Couldn't find the code on site but googs provided CLAYTONQ30 and have one ordered off the website for $280 shipped.
Needed something to handle rare power outages and tailgating
Unfortunately only 90 day warrantee but doubtful it will get more than 20 hrs of use in two years

My old generator I found that it would bog and produce quite a bit less surge power at elevation. A cheap injector kit helped. It ran fine at low to medium demands at elevation.
