It’s only a poor financial decision if you don’t assign value to shiny things that make you smile, and that you only have so much life to enjoy so don’t put that shit off forever. As long as you’re still planning for tomorrow, go buy your Tesla.
    focus.

I'm just looking at some numbers. Like I said the best financial decision is to take the bus. But even then people will be like, but but but you could trip on the steps getting in...you should walk.
    That's a stretch

I learned alot about electric in the past year
The idea that electric is going to save the planet is funny when consumption is the real problem but we all like nice things

The electric problem is that many houses pre 1990 don't have the service or panel to handle our absurd needs for comfort and bullshit I'm now at the point where I don't argue w people and demand we hire an electrical engineer to design their service upgrades most people balk

The great thing about electric is we can pretend that everything runs on unicorns and rainbows

Buy the fucking car look at porn on the internet and post on tgr while charging up

I like cars and own a few I like cars that run on gas and diesel I don't care about tge environment

But life would suck if we did EVERYTHING based purely on the best financial decision. So just go ahead and say "I am buying a tesla, how can i make it hurt my pocketbook the least?".
This, but I still wouldn't buy a $47k car personally.

I mean, vacation, skiing, etc. All "bad" from a pure numbers standpoint right?

Car loans make sense to get out of dealing with a mechanically unreliable car at certain stages in life (IE- kids).

They also made alot more sense a few years ago when you could get a loan for less than 1%.

If you do decide to buy the Tesla, hit me up for a referral code and you'll save $500 bucks!

It's $10k in interest. Here is your AM schedule if I put the numbers in right.

It's not horrible. It's just not the choice I'd make.

The 3 months FSD is worthless so the referrer is actually getting a better deal. That's why I mentioned to the OP that whoever refers him should kick back some of the points (hopefully enough for a wall charger). That's what I've done recently at least. Granted, I don't need the full 10k points nor do I want a Tesla hoodie.

So Teslas are now a pyramid scheme where you recruit someone to buy a Tesla you get points, get enough points and your car accelerates faster?

OP - New model 3 just announced overseas (US 10/1 it sounds like). That model 3 you were looking at has now dropped $2k since you posted. I'd keep waiting if you can. Tesla will need to move inventory by the end of the month.
