Vegas pushed to December. But if I had gone when intended, I would have forgotten where I had gone by now. Brain has a Vegas hard delete at 36 hours.

Watch the movie memento before you go. Guy takes pictures everywhere so he can remember his life.

Yo. So my last trip found me in the Arts District. Able Baker brewing was good then cocktails at Velveteen Rabbit.

Also tried some of the best izakaya this side of Shinjuku at Raku and took a pleasure cruise on their Toto Neorest crapper.

Other than that, it was unfortunately bars in casinos. Nothing special.

Art District is great. I'll try Abel brewing and Raku, and I'll get the heated seat and undercarriage spritzer.

My to-do list in Arts District is the Hard Hat and Dino's. And go back to Silver Stamp.

Brides of March (starts at the Rebar) is on the first day of the trip, this time I'll know what the hell is going on when I arrive.

Was it Raki or Roku? We used to go to Roku and the lobster tempura was unworldly.

Fack, I may skip Brides of March and head from the airport to The Double Down for First OFF fest, there's 6 bands playing in a place Anthony Bourdain calls one of his top 5 dive bars in the world. I've been there once.

"The rules of Toothless Tuesday seemed simple enough: Anyone with a missing tooth got a free beer. But not just one tooth, since P Moss, owner of the Double Down Saloon, discovered that it didn’t rule out much of his clientele. Even when he upped it to two teeth, he was still giving away beer like water. So it came to be that you had to have two missing teeth in a row.

Some years ago, Moss had explained the rules to a disappointed man with only one missing tooth when another patron offered to pull a second tooth out. He accepted the offer. “What could I do?” Moss recalls. “I gave him a pair of pliers, and he yanks and yanks and yanks and yanks, and the guy’s screaming. Oh, it was horrible.” At last, the tooth relented. “He looks up at me and smiles this big, bloody grin and says, ‘Gimme my beer!’ And I said, ‘I told you; it has to be two teeth in a row.’ The guy pulled the wrong tooth!” Moss watched the furious, blood-soaked patron get his vengeance, chasing his makeshift dentist out the door and around the corner. But he never did get his beer. “Hell no, I didn’t give it to him!” Moss says. “The rules are the rules.”

No heated toilet seats with anal spritzers here.

A long Vegas week begins *sigh*

Started the trip at the Hard Hat Lounge. A 62 year old notorious dive bar that recently was taken over by new management and apparently smoothed out the roughness of it.

Hard Hat has a nice local vibe, I liked it. Inside was a very small grill called Stay Tuned, serving smashburgers with homemade pickles. I'll be back in a few days to try them. They had a pretty cool neon logo imo. And the HH T-shirt of off-the-clock showgirls is pretty funny.

I was leaving the HH and just in awe of the sunset reflecting off my POS Nissan rental. It's so small when I turn my head left to look at my blind spot my forehead hits the roof. And the passenger door doesn't lock with the key fob, but all the other doors will.

They have a 'Drunk of the Month' wall, with all 12 months up to see, but I think it's just an insider funny customer of the month prize

Music at Dinos was good, bonus points for that, but the place was dead and boring and I won't be back. I'm sure it's hopping late at night some nights but I don't have the time to figure it out

Across the street are b+/A- tacos. Tasted like A+ tacos after some beers.

Last stop for us was the Silver Stamp - this place was all or mostly locals with a good upper midwest vibe to it. And thank god for that as I purposefully wander off the strip to avoid all the waddling drunks.

It's weird to take pics of people I don't know so here's some wall shots instead of some wide bar 'vibe' shots.

Silver Stamp is now my favorite Vegas bar. I've been there twice and I'll be back soon.
