Swedish. not German.
I don't really see it being a thing on this side of the water, but it's not uncommon to see in southern Sweden and Copenhagen. the number of commuters riding through town without a helmet is significantly higher than my experiences anywhere in North America, and this provides at least some level of protection...

Hovding German Airbag Helmet.
I saw a report w this tech being adapted for old people prone to falls. They had one for head protection and another for hip protection. Pretty smart to enter that market. Prob much more lucrative than bike helmets. Plus if it doesn’t work, it’s just some old.
