Price Check: 2020 Scott Ransom 910

I am looking to unload my bike. I was considering listing it for $4200. Thoughts?

Is my price high, low, or in between? Any comments, roasts, or inquiries are welcomed.

Nice clean rig. Maybe a touch high in this market but the handguards add at least $500 worth of gnar value.

Where are you located and how many used bikes are currently for sale in the area? That will probably be an important factor. If you’re willing to ship, that will certainly help.

As for the price, I’m going to be pessimistic and say around $3k. That’s a pretty long travel bike and will limit the custom pool somewhat. I don’t know if the Ransom has been updated since 2020, but the prior generation components (e.g, drivetrain, fork, dropper, etc.) might be a sticking point for some buyers. Being a 29” will help.

For comparison I sold a prior generation Pivot Mach 6 with a very similar build to yours for $2,300 this spring in Salt Lake City. Granted it was a 27.5”.

I’d say list it for what you hope to get and if it’s crickets, start dropping the price.

I recently sold a ‘20 Carbon Rocky Instinct. Mostly brand new XT drivetrain, brakes, cranks, good wheels, new X2 shock, Fox 36 factory. Maybe 400 miles. (Good shape). I think I got $3k.
