OMG. I put "has been" in quotes. I had assumed Peruvian was talking about one of the many Grateful Dead incarnations and was calling Bob Weir a has-been. From there I went to his contemporaries, Jack and Jorma, who happen to be coming to town soon.
    My bad. Everybody chill out.

I even braved the Frog Brigade. That was fun.
But I'm over getting mashed up close to the stage like I used to at Dead shows (has beens?)

    True.

And while I enjpyed myself immensely blazing with the ethers at Dead shows, there's few things I find as irritating as old has been deadheads.

Back on topic, I can't do a dog anymore, their passing just destroys me, but I decided that over 20 years ago.

And after I tore my acl 22 years ago, I quit skiing fast and doing cliffs higher than 15 feet or so.

Yes, it sucks to get old and especially recognize devolving and not skiing as wild and well as I used to. The health scares suck.

Or take drugs or orgy or river or canyon or do any of that stupid but supremely fun stuff.

It's all OK, just shoot me if I shit on the kids fun nowadays, the shit the flippy spinny or gnarwad extremo stuff, is just fucking awesome. But I still have lots to look forward to, doing my stupid Euro traverses and skiing with the folks who I enjoy.

How about people who don't even text back? Why is that so hard for some people?
It's like when you walk into a crowded bar or restaurant and no one even gestures an acknowledgement of your presence.
I get that people are busy or out of range or work jobs where they can't look at their phones, but I'm talking about people who don't reciprocate communication well in general if at all. To me that says you couldn't even acknowledge my presence. Sending an lol or something is the equivalent of that thing where the bartender holds up an index finger to you to indicate that they have seen you and will be with you when they can. It's kinda hurtful when it's people you've known a long time and they weren't always like that.
    No longer stuck.

My fingers are fat and I always hit the wrong buttons. My friends know I won't respond. They also know if they want to get a hold of me they can call me. I'm old........I hate cell phones, Land lines were the best.

Still have a land line but then I live somewhere with sketchy reception and frequent power outages. Don't really like talking on the phone but when I do I prefer a land line.

I can't explain why, but I'll probably refuse to do this until I literally can't stand up anymore. [shrug emoji]

Yeah, to me when people don't reply I think it's a strong signal they're saying "leave me the fuck alone. I'm not really interested in communicating with you." [at least at that moment, it doesn't mean they never want to hear from you]

It was much more comfortable talking on the old copper analog wires and hard plastic bell phones. Something about digital just doesn’t connect to the brain in the same way.

Also, I’m too old for voicemail. Won’t leave one. Won’t listen to one. It’s not 2005. Txt me.

I’m too old to deal with the fact that my mom is too old to deal with texting.

It is, indeed, a really weird hill to choose to die on.

With the advent of smartphones, the sitting to pee contingent has grown 1000%. Especially if you are at work.

I told my offspring when they were little that if they really *liked* to clean toilets, by all means stand up.
