BEFORE...
Represented Britain in the 1987 World Championships in Oberstdorf.
Represented Britain in the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary.
Came 56th position out of 57 competitors. The 57th was disqualified
AFTER...
Made £87,000 in one week after his world famous jump, and built up almost £400,000 by the end of the year.
Released the book and video "Eddies On The Piste".
Released a song in 1991 that went to number 2 in Finland called "Mun Nimeni On Eetu" which translated as "My Name Is Eddie". Eddie also recorded the song "Eddien Siivella" which translates as "On Eddie's Wing".
Was declared bankrupt in 1992, claiming a trust fund designed to handle his earnings wasn't set up properly.
Trained in Finland for the 1998 Olympics but failed to qualify.
Now a law student in Leicester.
In March 2002, an American production company bought the exclusive film and TV rights to Eddie's story, and it looks like a film about Eddie's life will begin filming in Europe in 2003.
Eddie will perform some of the ski-jumps in the movie and hopes he will be played by Ewan McGregor, Robert Carlyle or Brad Pitt!

Kevin Andrews is a contractor in Tahoe.....He stills skis Squaw.
Still in B.C., no? Don't remember where I saw that, but it's stuck in my mind. Probably out still climbing and skiing gnarly peaks in the middle of nowhere.Originally Posted by assgasorgrass

heh... I was thinking the same thing. I did some contract work for one of Hank's internet start-ups a handful of years ago. I think more than one of the guys from backcountry.com also worked on that project. Got a chance to play golf with him and another olympic skier from that era (can't remember who, now).Originally Posted by irul&ublo

Cody Townsend? He's such a has-been.
OOOOOOOHHHH, I'm the Juggernaut, bitch!
Robbie Huntoon.
Where to start...
Kevin Andrews, as Squawman said, still lives in Tahoe and builds sheds. He still rips, and he drives a truck with a homemade camper on the back that stands about 15' tall and looks like it'll flip on every turn. Played a few holes of golf with him not too long ago. He still looks like he did in License.
Tom Day is one of the best cinematographers action films have ever seen. After working with Standard Films for many years, he's now shooting for Warren Miller, doing commercials, etc.
John Tremann, according to Hank deVre, is contemplating returning to Tahoe to get back into skiing after finding the lord.
Robbie Huntoon still works in the film production business in Tahoe, although you won't see him skiing through any plate glass windows again. He had a horrific crash several years ago, ragdolling over a pile of rocks at Alpine Meadows, severely denting his head and crippling a leg. He nearly died. Harkin Banks will never be the same.
Pete Bowers still skis Squaw and elsewhere, but with a lower profile than in the past. He seemed to tone down after a gnarly injury in a comp in Crested Butte several years ago.
Pete Tankersley solely snowboards now and shoots 16mm for a snowboard company.
Justin Patnode lives in Frisco, CO (I believe) and is a web designer.
Whatever happened to that Cliff Huckstable guy who used to post here?
Wayne Wong (or is it Hank Kashiwa) with some idiot wearing a Freeze t-shirt at Alpine Meadows a few years ago:Originally Posted by Buster Highmen
Don't know what else he does aside from the celeb ski appearance thing. Very nice guy.
And Pehota lives in Pemberton or somewhere like that, and still does a lot of ski mountaineering type stuff. Has a few kids.
