Thumbs up 15,000 feet of untracked vertical today

It has snowed quite a bit in Colorado the last 2 days, and the sky broke open for the sun today. Hit Copper MTN, ducked ropes all day, untracked white blow everywhere. Laughs were shared, legs got smoked. It was pretty fvckin' sick to put it lightly...sorry no pics. L8

    Heli-skiing for 1 day -$850

Snowcat skiing for 1 day -$350

Skiing 15,000 feet of untracked on a season pass that cost $219 and not getting caught?

Some dolts were ducking the ropes into the gully below Shuksan Sunday. there was head-size deposition clear across the gully from Saturday, with a fair bit unfractured hanging still. No gear, no beacons, totally gaper ability.

I watched them get off with a warning, then overheard them saying they were going to do it again next run. So I turned them in.

I got nothing against untracked, and not much against stupidity, but I certainly got something against people who go f*cking it up for everyone else by their stupidity.

agreed grrrrr......The CO snowpack is crappy right now. Lot's of windloading been going on the past 24 hours. Set off a couple of below treeline slides (25' wide 90' long to the ground) today on loveland pass. Fracture line was about 18 inches. Did a quick ski cut on a convex slope and the thing ripped right to the ground.

You could have rid the gene pool of society a few less inferior genes and you did'nt? KILL HIM!!

Iskibc-There was actually more snow than that over on triple threat, etc.
I would'nt poach Spaulding or anything like that, even if I slipped past patrol on my way up.(no anchors) Skiing closed runs with water bars is a little different.

15,000 feet of vert at Copper? Man, you must have skied, like, 800 miles to notch that up. Way to get some.

    whoa.

When I broke mine I went to the school doctor 6 weeks later for a check up. I questioned his diagnosis because all he did was have me move my arms in a circle and ask me if there was any pain. I said no and he said I was healed. I asked him if he needed an x-ray or if at the very minimum he should look at the area. It turned out my bone was still broke. He moved the bone without much trouble and questioned whether I actually felt no pain.

I ended up going to another doctor and had to wear that damn brace for another 3 weeks. At least I wasn't left with a big bump or dent like most of the people I know who broke their collar bone. Hell I can barely tell which one I broke.

I had surgery on it, and I have a metal pin through the length of it. Dr. Hawkins did the surgery, and he did an AMAZING job. The only pain I get now is the end of the pin poking through my skin on my shoulder.

Bad-roo-yeah, it was probably more, but I did'nt want to get in another "80 foot cliff" debate with the mags/mins.
