LA MANIA CINEMATOGRAFICA EN LAS LENAS

The sun rose at 5:35AM this morning. As skiers English Ian, Austrian Willy and Irish Dave geared up to hike the “Adrenalino” chute, I rolled over in my bed…Too much to drink at UFO last night? Or no rush to go ski another Marte lap?

Spring has arrived in Las Lenas and with it sunny skies and infamous “September Sessions” of Marte Chair. Many gringos have come and gone…a few of us remain to finish off what could be considered the biggest snow season of the decade.

After a month in Las Lenas and running out of entertainment in this high alpine resort, SouthAmericaSki.com Ringleader Mark Lasseter has given me and of course the other ghetto dwellers and resort staff another thing to do…

This week, in conjunction with our compadres norteamericanos, we will be celebrating the first ever Argentinean World Premiere of Teton Gravity Research’s “Tangerine Dream.”

TGR have been gracious enough to allow us to use the premiere as a fundraiser for local ski instructor Poke who injured himself on a jump in August and unfortunately is now quadriplegic.

So come with extra dinero to help Poke with his medical bills and if you are jonesing to ride, GET DOWN HERE, there is still lots of snow and only a couple days until the South Hemisphere’s biggest ski party ever!

FKNA brother, the Corona Club was my nemesis. Mark is the man, go ski with the hippy stinx pony-tail lady, and keep on reporting. I'm sure we all skied together at some point. Mendoza is treating us well right now, and it´s off for the states in the morning. Too bad we´ll miss the TGR movie, and to Poke, I´m glad there´s always kind ski folk around to take care of us all.

Enjoy the spring-time, cause it´s so good right now.

You better show TGR there next year, because I plan spending all of September in Las Lenas a year from now. It'll be so sick skiing @ AltaBird this winter, plus traveling to Jackson & Tahoe, then working at Signal Mtn. Lodge next summer (this place is so chill to work, I have a killer veiw of The Grand, and Mt. Moran EVERYDAY!!!!!!) in the Grand Teton National Park makeing fat tip money as a server, then jetting down to Las Lenas. I think I've my dream planned out .

Amazing show! Mark and Holly rule. We had a big international posse of derelicts on hand so you can be sure we had a good time. The captain was in full effect complete with Micah´s sunglasses, guitar, and bottle of gaggermaster for a slide. Lots of heckling from the crowd....fueled by various liquid and solid substances.

Dana Flahr pretty much ownerized the movie.

The mix was potent, but effective. I just wish I had the pics that are on everyone´s computer. I think the most dinero shots were the ones of cheddar chewing on a knife while spewing red wine and ketchup all over his Misfits wifebeater and everyone else. Pinche dinero!!!!

I´m now in San Raf waiting for my bus to Neuquen, then San Martin. The take home message I´ve learned so far is my spanish is far more effective in LL than it is in real Argentina. Voy con dios.
