From my bad bump - man the Dubs looked old last night. They really should have traded Klay when the had the chance.

Dubs offseason starts early.

Klay should come back. 2 years at $36M seems fairly reasonable for a shooter off the bench, but maybe Orlando offers 2/$50M and he goes.

Dubs need to trade CP3, a pick, and Looney or GP2 for rotation players or a disgruntled 1b/2nd option. That adds up to about $40M. If it's a good player, like PG13, add Wiggins and another pick, take back a shitty mid-range contract, and remove Looney and GP2.

CP3s $30M+ contract is non-guaranteed so the accepting team can cut him with no penalty. He’s simply cap space filler.

Might not be able to do it until draft day due to the Stepien Rule about not having a 1st rd pick in consecutive drafts.

Dubs' FRP pick this year is 1-4 protected, so will likely convey. Won't know until after lottery.

In addition, trade Wiggins and something (pick or player) to a team with cap space to get role player for less $. Dude is a head case.

IMO, everyone on Dubs but Steph and Kuminga is subject to trade. Problem is that they’re not attractive.

In the end:

Dubs still won't be good enough to win a title, but their salaries will be better.

And after 2 more years of a nostalgia tour, the 4x champ core will retire.

Dubs fans will be watching the rebuild moving forward for the next 3-5 years.

Last time it was a 40 year drought. I was there for it and at least I got to enjoy cheap tickets.

I still like TJD and Podz too - last season was a very solid draft. But yeah, it’s time to blow it up. They looked old and tired out there. Steph was on an island out there much of the game and I thought Kerr did a pretty shitty job with his rotations.

what? I would expect anyone doing this to be banned; they're not "making an example of him", they are doling out the proper punishment. As for "ignoring the extent of the issue", while no doubt betting and sports is problematic, there is no other situation like this, and he was caught precisely because they're not ignoring the issue. He was caught by systems in place designed to catch betting irregularities.

At the game tonight, Embiid still looked injured, very slow and mopey through the first 3 quarters. Not sure how it looked on TV but really apparent during beaks in the action. But stepped up at the end with a few big plays when needed .
