    Mustard

Anyone tried this Sierra Nevada IPA stuff? It's in my local "specialty" supermarket in Japan and is tempting as hell. But not quite 12dollars/jar tempting.

Thoughts? Is it worth it? Or should I just stick with other "gourmet" brands at half the price?

    What's your jam?

    It's a good mustard, but it isn't $12/jar special.

FWIW, the brewery is 90 minutes away from my house.

I've definitely used horseradish, can't see why not. The only issue I see is that fresh wasabi will mellow out considerably during the ferment and won't maintain that kick that you are expecting. You could add it at the end though when you pulverize it.

    +1 but I'm close to 2:15 away.
But now y'all have me interested in making mustard.

And that's the real reason for this thread-- to get schooled by the Padded Room chefs.

I'll buy whatever my over priced organic grocer is selling. Haven't been disappointed yet.
When I run out my French's Mustard that can stay in the fridge for almost a year is just fine.

These are incredible, but a more of splurge. Garagiste sells them every year as the Mustard King offering. We have the Citron Vert and Truffle in the fridge right now. Really really good

If you're ever around the St Lawrence market check out Kozliks. Pretty high end and last I was there was still six bucks a jar.

EDIT - K it's seven bucks now. Still highly recommended
