Sender Free 110

I think it's interesting how few shots there are of the 110s, and everybody's back on the 118. Even the tall guy.

110 is just to skinny to keep your speed up in pow (for fresh takeoffs). And the 118 is magic.


I do think mounted on the line the 118 has an almost reverse camber ability to be rolled onto the tail. Not that I want to stay there, but because the ski is flexed up, it's super easy to juice yourself back to the front.


Super impressive skiing in there, not my usual role models for turn technique, but the always get me hyped. That cork 180 on the windlip qp was unreal.

Out on the SF 110 the other day when we got a heavy snowfall midday and again were lots of fun. Can carve very well at even lower speeds and become nice and loose when in soft snow.

I’m finding my SF 110’s to be pretty challenging to ski compared to my Sender Squads which surprised me. I’m wondering if I need to detune more or get bases ground. Any consensus on detuning to the rocker contact point or end of sidecut? I did end of sidecut and the tips really want to bite on everything.

Definitely sounding like an edge high/railed ski if it’s that’s demanding to ski. Another thing to check along with the bases being flat is the base bevel being uniform at 1 degree and that there’s no hanging burrs etc. Your description of the tips biting right away could be base bevels being below 1 near the tips/tails which would cause them to engage before you might want. Have seen skis come from the factory with 0 degrees or close to it on the tips or tails before setting them. So check the bases are flat(if not grind them) and then make sure that base bevel is uniform at 1 degree and hit the edges with stones to remove any possible burrs. Run my Sender Free 110 at 1/3 with no detuning to their widest points/sidecut length and then round above that on the tip/tail to prevent top sheet damage. Nice and loose when flat and grip when on edge. Mine were the opposite from the factory being base high and were too loose and unstable till they were ground flat and edges reset.

Since I can't quote people this morning... the ~191cm SF118 exists, but is an athlete only ski as far as I am aware. Maybe Rossi will press and sell some to the public eventually, but I haven't heard any details.

All the reports for the athlete ski are 194.

I just came to add that these are such a great mid/low-tide ski. I was having a serious hankering to get some KF Reckoners, but when I'm going between 6" of dense snow and glazed ice turn to turn, I really can't imagine a better ski. Even though I desire something a little more playful/softer, for how I actually ski the SF110's medium + flex is perfect. I've been a little neck tweaked so I'm just doing 180s and halfcabs all over the mountain, and these are plenty fun for little stuff. But the edging on buffed out steeps will keep you coming back time and again.

Sounds like a bigger SF118 is at least a season or two out.

Got some of the 184 free 100s since I was too dumb to preorder AM100s.

2020g, mounted -5(rec -3.25), no metal. Seem to ski like a turnier 110, however the tune is absolute railed fuck all and ruined my whole day of skiing, can’t believe how many new skis have shit tunes. Off to the grinder they go.

^not sure how I feel about the 100 yet, skis well but the lack of dampening like the 110 has isn't exactly what I wanted. I can see why rossi would make the 100 more lively with a slightly softer flex, makes sense, but I was hoping for more of a skinnier 110 personally.

Man you weren't kidding. I did three laps on my SF100's and left. Edges way too high. No release whatsoever.

Was able to check out the Sender Free 100 in person at a Whistler shop and was impressed with it's flex pattern. Compared to the 191cm SF 110 they had there, the 184cm SF 100 just a HAIR softer maybe but very close. I'm wondering if this is going to be another BO 118, 183 Mfree 112 case where there are some noticeably different weight differences that might be effecting flex and feel.
I will probably be getting a set of the SF 100 if I can find a set above 2100gr(heavier than my BO 98 set) as I liked the shape even better.

Any more field reports for the SF 100? A lot of what I am reading is pretty discouraging, as I was hoping it would be similar to the SF 110 in a narrower waist.

I liked the SF100 a lot. Felt exactly like a narrower 110 to me.Did really well in fresh 6-8 inches. Did really well straight-lining through crud. Was a blast skiing in the park. Carved some nice turns on soft groomers.No metal, but for a 100 underfoot ski it excels so well as an all-mtn freeride/freestyle ski and I couldn't find it's speed limit yesterday in soft snow.Factory tune was the worst I've seen in my life and the topsheet/graphics are misprinted.

Will be checking over my shop's stock of the Sender Free 100 and grabbing a set tomorrow. Going to get them ground before they mount the bindings and will tune them up before hitting snow later this week.
Will report back after I try them out and can compare to the Blackops 98, Enforcer 104 and Sender Free 110 I own.

I'm interested in the 100s. I'm selling my 110s to a worthy bro. It's really such a great all arounder, but I'm swapping for some Reckoner KF's to get a little more spring in a step. But having the same feel in a low tide ski might be ideal (SF100). If I do come back to the 110s it'll probably be a 191.Can anyone post rocker shots? Or are we done with pictures on the forum? Everyone needs a blog again.

Both pairs of the 184cm SF 100 at Corbett/AsoGear warehouse were around 2000gr each so no heavy ones. The sales person at Corbett retail shop desk when getting them mounted was surprised I wanted them ground before mounting and skiing but told him I no longer risk skiing before grinding and tuning any new ski now. Will tune and wax when I get home and try them out tomorrow or Thursday I think.

I am hoping it is the perfect daily driver/travel ski for someone who has a freeride-freestyle type of skiing style (similar to the 110).

Based on where the real sizes are coming in the 190 SF100, should be around 187, and weigh under 2100g. That might be my jam.

Gave my new 184 SF 100 skis a quick tune on Tuesday night after having them put through Corbetts Jupiter Winterstiger machine twice and they must have been very edge high. Lots of high spots on the base edges, uneven bevels and very coarse finishes on the side edges. Tried them out Wednesday afternoon after skiing Stockli GS skis in the morning on somewhat firmer snow. Was impressed with their carving capabilities but could feel the tune still wasn’t perfect as they weren’t super easy to pivot yet. That night at the hotel I hit the edges again with some stones and tried them again the next day. That night we got almost a foot of new snow but a lot of the new snow was groomed over so just about 1/2 that on most trails but some untouched snow on the side of trails. Started on my 184cm SF 110 to start the day and they were great as always. A blast on the untouched snow, blasted through the tracked groomers and carved great. Switched to the SF 100 in the afternoon and they have a very similar feel but lighter and quicker edge to edge. Noticed they are not quite as quiet as many of my heavier skis with more damping materials on really hard snow but heard a similar sound(but not as loud) on the SF 110 too. Very similar stability as the SF 110 but easier to go edge to edge at lower speeds. Flex is maybe a touch softer but I actually found they absorbed the heavy crud better than the SF 110 which transmitted more vibrations into your shins. The 182cm BO 98 is a bit quieter on firm snow and a bit more precise but the larger tip/tail splay and better sloping on the SF 100 definitely passes over things better. Bit more stable too I think. Was skiing on a smaller Ontario Canada hill but was doing laps all day at 35-40mph in heavy crud without issue on the SF 100. Sold my BO 98 to a buddy’s kid on Wednesday night. Heading out west for a month and taking the SF 100 and Blackops 118. Gave them another once over today and was able to perfect the 1/3 tune even more so they should be skiing even better now. Mounted them -3cm on the edge of the bump so about -6.25cm total back which is the same as my SF 110 and perfect for my 175lbs.

On my Sender Free 100 today at Lake Louise in firmer conditions but very impressed now with these skis now that the tune is perfect. Very stable at speed and absorb the terrain very well. Snow and skis aren't as loud today so don't notice any noises with them today.
