Poll: Vote for the Utah Mini date

Altachic is now in charge and I am taking a backseat, going into retirement as organizer of the Utah MINI Summit, which is now really the annual Utah Summit.

So, this is the deal. We are going to keep this short and sweet. 4 weekends to pick from.

Since we do not know when the Summit is, we are going to hold this anyway on the majority vote. Some like to hit Utah instead of heading to THE SUMMIT or do both. The Utah Mini Summit is usually a lot cheaper and we are in close proximity to many mountains.

And since Red Baron is just not as good at his job as we would like him to be to forecast some storms for us, we are randomly picking these extended weekends.

All dates are Th-Tu, with main groups usually skiing/riding on Fri, Sat, Sun. Plus travel day in and out.

16th through the 21st is the President's day holiday weekend. Never been to Utah on that weekends, so not sure what the crowds are like. Are we sure we want that as a choice?

Sure, that is why I put up 4, it was going to be three choices. Figured if people want to use the holiday as an extra, then maybe.

But I do have a feeling it will be one of the other weekends.

I like Feb for this, 9-14.

Well, I don't know if I can say that I'm in charge because of the new postition I took at work...meaning I won't have as much time this season as the past few years.

But, I will make sure the dates get nailed to one of those weeks and I'll ask that Buzz posts the links to places to stay and what not!

This is going to be fairly mellow. I can ski the Fri-Sun, whenever we do this. We should all meet for drinks on those days and maybe get together for a party like years past.

Skiguide....you wanna help us out here?

Historically the busiest weekend for Utah resorts. I voted for February 9th to the 14th.

I had thought that we'd voted for the Summit to be @ W/BC March 3-12. Am I still in my own perpendicular universe? Is the inner product of my vectors with your vectors 0?

I will skip some classes and come out whenever...I voted for Feb 9-14.....Summits definately come before classes......JetBlue from Syracuse to SLC is money and plus i have a place to stay at the U of Utah.....so i'm pumped to try and make it out this year.....only summit i have attended was last years EC one so i am ready to travel this year...

No, Buster, I was/am/forever will be out of it. I was not paying attention to the W/BC summit, as there will be no way I am making it there.

No worries, it is looking like Feb 9-14 anyway.

This is the Utah mini, Buster, not the official summit. I think the idea of dropping the "mini" is due to the usual high turnout for this thing, not an attempt to usurp power from the proper summit

EDIT: maybe my inner product is zero. Buster might have been asking why one of the dates interfered with the W/B summit. In any event I can't really vote for one date over another here. I may make it or I may not depending on other factors.

Oops, I voted for the wrong weekend, clicked on Feb 16th weekend when I meant the weekend of the 9th, and I don't know how to correct it.....

That is ok, the idiot you put up this poll did the very same thing, so 2 votes for the later Feb dates are not correct.

I am in SLC on Jan 13-15 for a ASCE civil engineering conference and then skiing for a few days after, but I can't afford to stay a whole week and then some for the January summit opition. I'm going to vote for the march opition.

For my trip in Jan, I was planing on hitting the Bird and Alta and meeting some of you Utards while skiing

FYI one Straightline camp session is Jan 20,21,22 so that won't do for some (me possibly).

Voting for the Feb. dates, but am comfortable with any but the Jan dates.

I can help, just delgate me some work and I'll get her done.
