Buying 3 cars makes no sense for us. But when we need to go buy something large for the house it's good have a second person there to help (my wife) but we can't leave our kid at home alone and she can't fit in the smaller truck. Hence the need for a 4-door truck.
It just cost me freaking $36 to fill up my freaking Civic yesterday. Welcome to the days of $100/tank for a big SUV/Pick-Up. 1 tank a week=$5200/yr in gas!!!!!!!
The older I get, the better I was.

Trick out that Neon while you're at it,A big hood scoop with a cam driven blower should do the trick!

I've heard that the actual trade in value for bigger vehicles is going down faster than GW's approval rating,so you can probably score the kind of truck you want for cheaper than you'd expect.
    Calmer than you dude

I'm still just under $30 for my civic.
And luckily I only fill up once a week.

    Hey J,

Have you considered using a private broker? I used one once and had a really, really positive outcome. Basically find one from referal. Call and tell him/her exactly what you want. They will come back to you with what they can do and in my case they beat the dealers by several thousand. They do used, too. Just a thought.

I also used a car broker, worked pretty well. Pm me if you want his name. I just got rid of the z71 and picked up a much more fuel efficient rig. Gas up here is $3.55 of rreg 87.

Why not get a four door toyota truck? Better gas mileage, and more dependable.

I don't miss the days of fueling up my 32 gallon tank in my Full size truck.

Yeah. I was using the broker that 3 out of 5 of my co-workers bought cars with and all highly recommended him. The best he could do was $18,000 for a used Ram 1500 Quad cab SLT (50k miles). We both went out and walked the entire lot at the Denver auctions (where dealers buy their cars). We found a couple that looked promising, but both sold to dealers for around 17,500. The broker needs to make about $500 on the deal. So that's just 5k off buying brand new with employee pricing and a full warranty. I'm sure the dealers that bought those trucks will be trying to move them for closer to 20k once employee pricing ends.

FYI, some of the new Toyota's, at least the Tundra require Premium gas as the Dodge does not 20 cent a gal difference.

ps. that 5g less will change cause that price does not include tax, tags

base model (linear?) and some off silver color.

wanted red, didn't have it with heated seats, only with a bunch of power options.

Hey Blurred... I've seen so many people say how the Taco is such a great truck and snow-car... and I believe them. However, since its a RWD truck (when not in 4x4), how the hell does that thing handle in the snow? I'm assuming you just load it down with sandbags to give it traction? I had a RWD Grand Cherokee and that thing sucked ass.

Crink ~ where you getting that info?

The 4.0l V6 & the 4.7l V8 are both rated for plain ol' 86 octane. Regular gasoline.

Gone are the days of getting out and locking the hubs. You flip a switch and boom! Traction!

    "Recommended" doesn't mean "requires".

(Search? I've worked at Toyota for 10yrs. )

My IT Director has an '05 Ram 1500 Quad Cab 4x4 AWD with the 5.7l Hemi.
89 octane recommeded. He runs 87, though he did do a SuperChips upgrade.
