Is it hot stove season yet, or do we have to wait until all the awards are given out?

Does it go Ohtani gets MVP --> Signs $550MM deal? Cause that would be one heck of a November.

Has he played much cold weather baseball though? When the bulk of your games are in warm weather climates and the worst of the bunch is moving to Vegas you have to wonder if shitty midwestern weather would affect his game.

Probably not cause he's incredible but you never know.

Or markets that are a little more…intense? There’s been a bunch of really good players that couldn’t handle Boston/New York/Philly/even Chicago

    OFFICIAL 2023 MLB THREAD!!!!

Maybe he should go to the Reds where he can at least toil away in Eastern Time.

I did hear the Padres. At trade Soto which would free up a few hundred million

Is there a team where he wouldn't be a good fit?

Congrats on the Cy Yoing Gerrit Cole.
I got to see a lot of live mlb this season and Cole was the best starter I saw.

Dominant. How trash of an organization are the Yankees that they couldn't even make these expanded playoffs with an Ace that solid

And according to Stanton's agent, they talk shit about their talent in the open once the season is over.

    Good looks all around.

Mookie with a unanimous second place, too. That doesn't happen often.

As to Vegas. That has to hurt.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

I’m a little surprised at the NL mvp. I thought Olson would get a couple of votes and I still would have voted for Betts.

I guess it was hard to overcome the hr deficit between them but historically Dodger Stadium suppresses offense - which it did last year to the tune of a 94 ops+ (braves was 102 and fenway 106 for anyone keeping track).

Betts just makes that team so good on both sides of the ball and it was maybe his best year, and probably the best by a dodger since?

anyway, it was a great and historic season for a very good and still young player. pretty cool that it’s likely we haven’t even seen the best of what he can do yet.

Chickenshit announced yesterday the ASG that was pulled in ‘21 because of political grandstanding is going to be back in ATL in ‘25; no laws have changed and the world hasn’t burned down (yet). I guess the politically-expedient moment has passed and it’s safe to go back to the city to help everyone they fucked over (read: majority-black city) the first time around.

    Eat shit, Manfred.

Let’s go to Vegas in July to see a game plays different than let’s go to Vegas to see a game in November (football) or let’s go to Vegas to see a game in February (hockey)

they could barely get fans in the door in Oakland
