Yep. In spite of the inter-squad games bullshit and all that the 2 games I watched, both NL, the "best" teams looked like flat beer.

It’s that time of year. Love it when Kershaw shits the bed for the Dodgers in postseason.

    Strider: 7IP, 1ER, 8K.

That lineup is too good to let that performance to to waste in a 5 game series.

Harper is so hated by Bravos fans it’s only fitting he played the villain again last night.

I do really like how he respects the Bravos players and vice versa. Game respects game.

In all fairness I think I would hate Bryce Harper even if he played FOR the Braves.

There’s just something about him acting like such a huge douche bag that’s a turn off.

Does anyone NOT hate the new MLB playoffs?

Did we need another round and another Wildcard team?

Followed Harper since he was a rookie with the Nats. Love him or hate him he is a baller.

Yes & No, the entire Bye system isn't an advantage and the teams that had to play in the wild card games got as much rest as anyone else.

I can't imagine Harper in anything but the NL East. He's endeared himself to all those fanbases, good or bad.

As for the current makeup of the Playoffs, the extra wild card team is good for the game. There's 30 teams that play 162 games each and it's already the hardest championship to win among the major US sports, let one more feelgood team make it in and maybe make a run.

I can't for the life of me understand these off days though when each team has only played one game and at least one of those teams playing has been off for a week.

Maybe I am looking at this all wrong.

There is the season and by playing 160 games we establish which teams are the best over the long haul.

Then there is a tournament (The WC, DS, CS and the World Series) that all determine which of the best qualifying teams is the best of the best during a short moment in time. And achieving either is a helluva thing.

Game 2 in a little over an hour.

the original wild card format was the best one. introducing more chance for drama was a losing proposition. they gain a few fans for the end of the season at the expense of people who follow all year. and now fans barely show for the first round? it’s a joke.

Maybe that is what it takes to wake them up. What a catch and so fun to see Harper get totally burned.

Harper was motoring around the bags too. That crashing catch on the wall, that backup catch at 2nd and that heads up quick sidearm to 1st to double him up at first, any of that goes wrong, and it’s a tie game.
