Supposedly Kersh and Mookie made it known during the Bauer shit that they wouldn’t be good with him ever coming back. I’d guess the same will happen here. Easy decision as far as I’m concerned. The fact that he sucks this year and is a Boras client coming up on free agency should make it an easy decision for the front office as well.

    Goddamn people are stupid sometimes.

Rangers are only a game behind the Mariners after the Yankees swept the Cheatstros.

The Giolito era in CLE could be extremely short-lived.

this is pretty wild read. how many pro athletes or even kids have had their lives altered due to ignorance about concussions?

concussions and brain injuries are like lead exposure. Society wrote it off for a long time until it decided not to

Cole train goes choo choo as the Yanks become the NICEST team in baseball.

Cole is 1st in era by a smidge, 1st in war by a mile, 3rd in k's, 1st in innings. Sounds like a two letter season to me.

Meanwhile, the Marlins hung some crooked numbers on Mr First Ballot and stole a win.

That’s Mr. Unanimous First Ballot to you. And he’s getting old and creaky and can’t currently get his fastball over 89 mph. If it doesn’t come back for him this season I’d say 80% chance he retires.

Wow, you guys had me thinking he got rocked. But he gave up 3 runs in 5 innings and didn't even take the L. Not a great outing but doesn't mean he's done, considering he's got a 2.61 ERA over 21 starts.

It's really weird to see y'all taking cracks at one of the best pitchers of this generation. I thought Woodsy was off base in saying there were people here who didn't think Kershaw was a HoFer, is he not?

hey,i said he was a first ballot and insinuated that he’s (maybe) better than koufax. that doesn’t mean that i can’t take a shot at the dodgers when they’re up 3-0 against a low paid upstart that comes back for a W.

You misread me. Kershaw is my goat and he should be a unanimous vote into the hall. I’ve probably watched 75% of every pitch he’s ever thrown. The fact that he is still extremely effective after all the injuries and mileage is maybe as impressive as anything he’s ever done. But you can see the frustration building in his interviews. He’s got a happy family life in Texas and has nothing left up prove. I just don’t see him wanting to go through the grind of another year of his shoulder keeps giving him trouble.

PS: the voters that gave Dickey the Cy over Kershaw in 2012 should be prosecuted.

The voters suck but that's hardly the most egregious offender.

eta: if I was invested in Kershaw 2012 i'd be complaining too

Kirk Gibson is cool on these Tigers broadcasts. Nice to get him 6 times in a couple of weeks.

    Koufax ERA+ 132
    Maddux ERA+ 132

    Koufax wins 165
    Maddux wins 355

He was good but GOAT status is a boomer myth.

Koufax 63-66, pretty much best stretch ever. Had to retire at 32 because his arm was shot.
