Why, because he threw a no-hitter? It's not like he's some hot prospect about to break out. He's a 31yo who has thrown a career high 122 IP this year.

Exactly. Phils got a nice rental piece for their hopeful playoff run, Detroit got a good prospect. But there isn't much more to it than that. But it is fun to root for K-Mart Otani for a bit now.

Amed Rosario is the best Dodgers 2nd baseman since Utley.

If he starts stealing bases, he's Davey Lopes 2.0
    I love this team

I’m a die hard Braves fan, but I think we fucked up not picking up a starting pitcher before the trade deadline. Our GM Alex Anthopoulos is a genius, but the de facto WS between the Braves and the Dodgers is looking tight. Olsen put up his 40th HR in the matinee loss today in Pittsburgh catching Ohtani despite drawing lots of intentional walks of late.

Agree 100%. Max is rested but the rest of the starting rotation seems to lacks something right now.

As long as Strider keeps that stache tight and those tree trunk legs pumping I think the Bravos will be just fine.

Mets playing the Braves in what looked -- at the start of the season -- to be a pivotal series. Now, not so much.

The worst slugging percentage of the Braves' 9 starters would be the 3rd best on the Mets.

    Ufda. This checks out.

Oh well, at least José is getting the hometown José, José, José! treatment at the Trop tonight and he’s been dapped up by several players on the Rays, no doubt for knocking Jackie Anderson out last weekend.

"I kind of feel like today’s Jackie Robinson,” Anderson said in the interview, referencing his desire to break the "have-fun barrier" in baseball. “That’s huge to say. But it’s cool, man, because he changed the game, and I feel like I’m getting to a point to where I need to change the game."

    It is an odd line.

Speaking of odd. The Guardos-Rays game tonight saw one inning from each team give up the lead and multiple runs without any balls put in play.

The bottom of the 9th saw the Guards enter trailing 4-8 only to have the Rays walk the bases loaded then throw enough passed balls/wild pitches to have them leave the inning tied 8-8.

Then of course the third-best pen in baseball gave up the walk off HR in the bottom (maybe now 5th best? We’ll see). Frustrating.

When they flashed the batting averages of the Mets lineup during the game it was abysmal. Seems like half the team is batting sub .225. Ouch.

I guess the Braves are counting on Strider, Morton, and Fried to carry them through. Middle relief seems adequate, not exceptional. Closing has actually been super strong. I guess we’ll see. Charlie had a good outing. Although as previously mentioned it’s the 2024 Mets. Even the Mets D didn’t look great. Oh well. Rebuild.

Do you still get to pee in a troth full of ice? As a kid I thought it was kink of cool but the dripping pipes overheated kinda sucked because I was dumb enough to buy a Frank before I had to piss.

That was a dull double header unless you like one sided hitting clinics. Olsen is off the hook.

Are the Braves good or Mets bad?!?
    Yes

Enjoying this Cubs surge, especially if they nudge the Giants out of WC.

Bmills, Rosario keeps delivering for my Dodgers.

SM, package received. Thank you my man!

That bullshit of having position players pitch is a joke. Maybe even dangerous. Have some pride. Someone in the bullpen will man up.

position players for the yanks over the last 25 years have a lower ERA than Luis Severino. How many runs will the Braves score off of him?
