I just picked up some Backland Pro SL boots on closeout for a sweeet price. The 'at home' flex test is pretty soft, but the walk mode is amazing so I'm going to try to make them work.

I was thinking about modifying the boots to improve the ski-ability and have a couple of questions:

1) Can (or should) I swap out the one big powerstrap for a tradition buckle plus a small powerstrap?
2) Can I add a tongue like the previous versions of the boot had (I'm not afraid to drill/rivet if necessary)?

Thanks for any ideas.
