If anyone's interested in the new Atomic line, here's a very comprehensive Insta post from Craig Murray. Be sure to read the comments where he goes into some details.

Some more data points on the Maverick 115 mounting point - Sage, who used to mount his Automatic 117s/Backland 117s at +3, mounts his Mavericks at recommended. Craig really wants his skis to be playful, whereas Sage, while playful, is more & more directional with his skiing. I have two pairs of OG Automatics mounted at +2 and my Maverick 115s are at recommended.

Maybe I missed it, but what is the recommended mount point on the 115?

Thank you! I'm hoping to hear some reviews of the new Backland 109 soon, I'm interested in it for a new touring ski. I'm a little concerned that it's too light, but everything else looks good on paper.

performance spacer (aka knockoff free ride spacer) and 325 g per a binding sound intriguing on that binding

I saw the boots and bindings in person a couple weeks ago. I have to admit I was more impressed than I wanted to be.
a positive attitude will not solve all of your problems, but it may annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

The boots look great, two buckles + Z buckle is what I had hoped technica would opt for with the zero g 2.0. Pretty skeptical of the binding, I'll be happy to be proven wrong, but that heel piece looks plasticky and svelte in a not so confidence inspirng way.

Had a ski on them this weekend, the most interesting thing on that picture is the ski. It has a really flat tail so it feels like it is mounted far forward. Have to keep yourself well balanced on hardpack otherwise it feels like the tails want to overtake you, but off piste i had a go on the 81s because it was the only one that fit my boot and i have never had so much fun with such a narrow ski in choppy, heavy snow. Easy to turn and not catchy at speed, whch is cool for such a light ski. Carves fine to, just have to watch out when you need grip on the tails.

Binding is fine, big U spring, side relese is very in or out, has a bit of compression compensation, carbon reinforced toe, the brake worked nicely though.

Anyone with info on the new Salomon narrow touring boot "Shift Alpha BOA"?

Saw the new Zero g in store today, looked nice. Too big size for me to bother trying on though.

Shift alpha is pretty nice. Basically the shift boot with the alpha last.

The biggest bummer about the shift 2 update is that the “new riser option” is actually just a thicker brake lock mechanism. So in reality, it’s still just one climbing riser but also the flat setting with no riser has 4mm more ramp.

Evo uploaded lots of pics of some of K2's 2025 offerings today. I think it is looking pretty good.

On a side note - damn, there are seemingly sooooo many good skis nowadays, from Heritage Labs to many of the major brands pushing skis that seem pretty on point. I need to win the powerball lottery to be able to try them all though

It felt pretty good to me. Fairly low volume but not crazy. The flex is pretty decent for that style of boot but not on the stiff side I would say. The soft medial 1st guide is an interesting idea and one we have played with. I’m not sure the implementation actually achieves exactly what they wanted but I’m stoked to see boa evolving already even in year 2! They look awesome though so I will give Salomon credit there I think there design team is killing it right now.

Krazy Karl gets his own pro model and looks like the Reckoner 112 is now a 110?

So its like the team boots we had but I decided to change the tongue liner to wrap as that is what Karl prefers and also it just is more in line with what these boots are. Wrap liners feel great in them so lets just offer our stiffest fixed cuff boot with the wrap again.
the rocker lines are not terribly dissimilar to kartels

Thanks! I've not tried the alpha on, how's it compared to a hawx ultra?
