I picked up a men’s Brûlée 90 but for some reason could not get the women’s to show “on sale”.

Maybe I will need an Amnicon for myself at some point...I do like the idea of a wool blend, but I was curious to try the Alpha Direct in the Brule. Amnicon should be good for my wife though--for whatever reason she manages to permanently stink up the pits of her fleeces...not with BO, but with the scent of her deodorant (that she doesn't want to change). The wool should help with that.

I think the sale is done--I'm guessing they were manually adjusting each item so there was a lag.

I logged on at 9CST and was reloading the women's page as my main goal was a gift for the wife. I noticed that the men's items showed up as orderable first and then the womens were coming back in stock one at a time. Took several minutes before they finished adding them all.

For those who missed the order window, I recommend liking their Facebook page, they post updates there with future sales.

Really nice people, and great products.

I find the stuff to run fairly normal size wise. Do remember that PT Alpha Direct rends to shrink in length a little (sleeves/body).

For hoods, they now have a scuba hood that should fit a bit better under a helmet.

I only have the Pt Alpha Direct, so I don’t know the fleece hoods would work with a helmet.

Ok i got the Brule and it is an interesting piece. it's basically like the OR ascendant hoody Liner-only. haha...

Are you guys wearing this against the skin or as a mid layer? I've got it on over a mdwt merino baselayer and it's quite warm. Also i concur that the hood fits nice under a smith helmet.

Yeah, I wear mine as a mid layer. Usually add an additional fleece/puffy vest under shell for lift served, depending on temps. I think 90 gsm would be pretty warm as a base layer unless you run cold, but would be interested to hear otherwise if folks have experience using it against the skin

yeah same. i've used the ascendant hoodie over a base layer for cool weather touring. the hood is key. this alpha fabric is sofaking breathable, it's hard to believe. i do wonder how durable this featherweight superior layer will be, but right now, i'm pretty impressed.

If you're wondering about durability, it's super not durable. I ripped a big hole in mine picking up my dog when a few of her nails caught in the fabric. That being said, still probably my favourite midlayer, just gotta make sure to wear a shell over it

This. Treat it like cashmire. But it's amazing if you are clear about its limitations.

Got an email that they're gonna accept orders this morning from 9-10 central time.

I've been using my alpha 120 hoodie over an ultralight merino base layer for running on chilly days lately. The comfort range is so much wider than other layers that I've used for this purpose over the years. Alpha ain't magic but it is mighty good.

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Bought a 90g Brule last sale and have been so impressed. Sooo light and breathable while being so warm. Need a shell layer over top, but this is going to be my go to mid winter touring layer moving forward.

Thanks! I don't have anything made with Alpha Direct, so I grabbed a 90g and a 120g piece. Excited to try these out.

Bumping this cuz my brule 120g just arrived. Well made and super plush. I went with the scuba hood, kinda weird but I think it will grow on me. I’ll definitely get another piece when they do another run.

    April 1st, 0800-1000 Central.

Still waiting on my order, hoping it arrives in time so that I can determine if/what I would want to order next.

For those that have done this before, do these just become available at 8:00am? No preorder?

It’s all made to order. Orders open at 8am, but the item won’t be constructed until sometime in the next month or so.
