Well can I get a condensed, Cliff's Notes version of the drama at least? Seems to be more going on than just trademark/copyright infringement or whatever

I haven't read every page of the EC thread but I don't remember seeing anything about it before today

My takeaway from the complaint is that it is 100% down the fairway trademark infringement, with the kicker being that people are actively confusing the mark holder (the ski shop) with the Internet-infamous person using their mark without permission. The examples I recall were contacting the shop in search of items they ordered online but hadn't received and people asking the principals of the shop why they were fundraising online.

I'd hope the lawyers want to write a complaint that makes for a straightforward and clear-cut decision for their client and thus judging a case based solely on one party's filling is dicey, but unless they overlooked some material facts, I find it hard to believe that the plaintiff wouldn't prevail in court.

Sure I read it too, but there seems to be a lot more going on in addition to what is stated in that complaint.

I mean, come on - theres a FB page called "Skidology AKA Banned by Bozo" which would seem to indicate some pretty serious butt-hurtedness on a level other than just trademark infringement. and Bottleman's popcorn reply also seems to suggest the same

That Skiology dude is a pot stirrer with an agenda. Has alienated most everyone who actually skis/rides on the EC over the past few years.

Speaking of Maine indie areas, Mt. Abram has been a great place to ski with my toddlers this season. The two-year-old got her first chairlift ride today (she's been asking since last season) and made it about halfway back down before getting tired and asking to be carried the rest of the way.

The scary while fun part was that, even when we were going about as fast as I wanted to ski with a two-year-old who doesn't really get the turning and stopping ideas yet, she wanted to go faster. My phone says that was about 25 MPH, FWIW.

^^^ yikes. thought it was an odd looking snow map...and no, not yet at least!

    3-10 shift was good
sometimes a bit of scary ice to slip to get to snow but soft snow found most routes, and usually in a lane more than 3ft wide (like on first run). long lines died down by 6pm.

Apparently Barker had an issue today. Must be getting cranky about forced retirement at the end of the season.

(Photo swiped from they interwebs, apparently they had the lift back up and running before the end of the day)Click image for larger version.

'Brian, I know you spend a lot of time with Dana, but even you should realize that e-brakes aren't effective down there.'

Barker has a history of being very confused about what parts are supposed to detach, but I'm also kinda horrified that an e-brake can make an escape and that there isn't a longer testing cycle before firing the lift back up.

Killington/Pico probably has already called dibs on any parts that make it to the end of its season as they are also running a few Yan-Poma frankensteins, and SR has raided their spares in the past.

The chondola also went down today and ended up unloading on aux.

Pretty admirable job by the ops at vvgg to keep her afloat thru the last two months - another scorcher today and rain coming rest of the week - needed to get out for some soft turns while it lasts..

I realize that I don't post too much on here but wondering if anyone near-ish to me has a quiver killer drill bit, tap etc that I could borrow to do a mount. Seems unfortunate to buy them to use them prob just once. Pm if you'd be game, I am in nyc or around Albany if a handoff could work.

Just use a regular bit. 1/8" if I recall will work. If you have a metal topsheet then slightly bigger and need to tap, otherwise no need. Just don't go too deep.

I have a bit and tap for the inserts you can borrow. I like using the tap even if the ski doesn't have metal in it...just makes it easier to thread the inserts in. I ski with Goniff a fair bit and he's in East Greenbush so maybe he could meet up to hand off.

    Let's take this to PMs

Sorry to pile on, but after seeing the 9th (no exaggeration) 5-paragraph Facebook update on the same Thursday-Friday storm, I kinda believe that they cross the line between providing helpful public information and attention-seeking behavior. It is still stuff I’ll read though [emoji2371].

It many times seems a cry for mental health assistance.
