Mounting Prophet 130

I am trying to decide were to mount these skis I have had some people sugest mounting forward of the line about 2cm. I am not concerend with riding switch in powder but am just wondring as anyone else ridden these skis and will mounting them forward casue them to dive or not be as good in the powder. I did ride some big daddies that were mounted 2cm forward and they dove in the powder.

If you're not sure, mount on the line. You can always move them forward if its an issue of them diving

If it's not to late mount them with a pair of tyrolia railflex binders. you can move the binding foward and back 1.5 cm from the center of the plate. if your not sure where you want your stance to be then its the best way to go.

I skied them for 5 days mounted at the Line. For being such big skis they were quite easy to ski. If they were beefier I would suggest pushing the mount forward or if you are using the ski for bouncing throgh some tight trees, but if you are a strong skier looking to charge mount normal. Keep in mind I think its a big time quiver ski. All five days when the snow got tracked I switched skis. Hope that helps.

It is a quiver ski and will be used at snowbird on big days.

For sure mount at the line then. What are you using for bindings? And fat brakes? Or are you going to tie a yellow rope to your leg and thrash yourself silly when you release? You will love the prophet. I got rid of mine cause frankly its not deep enough where I live.

Fat Yeti, still hoping to get more feedback on your Prophets.

I need some help mounting mine. I finally got some NX21s so I wanna know where to drill them. Will be used as BC toy (as much hucking as the bindings will put up with).

The line marked on the ski is a little forward of the rear position insert. So I was thinking of getting them mounted between the equivalent positions of the inserts (forward inserts being jib orientated and rear inserts being for powder).

How about giving the Jongs like me a breakdown of mounting points, similar to Marshals great thread 'Recommended Ski & Bindings'. I searched but it's all so random. Info the Jongs need:

How to measure the centre of the ski and then what 'normally' happens when you mount a specific distance from that line.

You always read "I mounted mine at +1" that's obviously from boot mark and not center mark but how about clearing some of this up and giving us a standard point to measure from.

Of course I can use a tape measure and I know what happens when you move the mounting point. I've been skiing for 24 years.

Ideally I'd like some mags to just write their experience of different mounting points. ie mount 'em forward for good switch riding, easier turn initiation but might dive in powder...

Sorry I have had limited internet acess due to our move read my review. i actualy mounted at the recomended point and would not change it.

I had my Prophets mounted pretty much normal. Heel piece over rear most mounting holes. FIS914 w/ 916 springs. Wide brakes bent carefully work fine.
I think they freakin' RIP! But then again we've had close to 4' new this week. 5 daze including 1 day snowmo tow/skiing.
WAY WAY better than spats for that!
Having had Big Daddy's and Pimp Daddy's center mounted, I've had them remounted str8 up/traditional.
I'd recommend mounting str8 up unless it's a jib only ski. While the center mount makes them feel shorter and ski switch easier, if you ride all mtn a regular mount or 1 cm back if lotsa pow seems to work best. At least here in the NW.
