GF and I watched the HBO dramatization recently, and after a bit of a breather are now in the midst of watching the original documentary (available on HBO and Netflix). That order has worked well for us, as the dramatized version is pretty good, but the doc is an absolutely fascinating look into the workings of a high-profile murder case.
And I can understand the appeal of casting Colin Firth in the lead role, (fine actor, and a name draw), but I couldn't help but think that John C. McGinley would have been an even better choice to portray Michael Peterson.
And then that got me wondering what if Oliver Stone had directed the HBO version? LoL.
