Serpo intrigues me and seems like a good fit for what i am looking for ~ a more piste oriented ski (90-99mm) that I can carve around on with my daughter here in MN and then take out West for groomer days with her. I currently have 189 ON3P Wren 98's in this spot (replacing) and have 192 Rangers (108mm), 191 Icelantic Keepers (119) when I want something with more width. I am sure there are other skis that would work just as well, but the Serpo has caught my eye.

If someone had a Ranger 96, Mantra M6, Justis, Mirus Cor, MSP 99 etc that they were willing to trade for Wren 98's, i would def consider just to simplify the buying & selling process. TBH- There are few skis that I have truly disliked and moved on from immediately. The Wren 98 is an awesome ski, and if I kept it, i would be happy most days, as it has become my go to ski on anything under 6".

Sometimes change is fun. All skied with NTN Freerides & Scarpa TX.Comps.

Haven't skied the new one but would be shocked if could do what the reverse camber one did in crud. At a certain speed on that ski you don't even notice the snow conditions beneath you.

I mounted some Plum Guides on them a couple days ago and took them out for a rip yesterday morning. They skied exactly how I expected them to: centered, loose, easy to get forward and drive them and just as easy to ease off and shed speed. Snow yesterday was untouched. dense Baker schmoo, so I'm curious to get them out in more variable, tracked-up conditions but overall I'm very stoked on them so far and look forward to spending more time on them

Was just about to post this too. At least they went back to reverse camber with this edition, not sure why they ever experimented with camber.

I’m not so sure about it having full reverse camber. Black Crows’ site has conflicting information.

“Dressed in a snowstorm, our widest legendary big mountain ski embraces the powder hunter limited edition. A ski intended above all to surf soft deep snow, it features a floaty 122 mm waist width, double rocker and gentle positive camber underfoot to provide perfect stability and balance at all speeds. For hunters of the deep.”

But it also says “reverse camber” in the technical details section.

I’m guessing it’s no different than the last version they put out. Just a different top sheet.

I've got a couple more days on them now and am more and more impressed every time I take them out. They handle challenging conditions (e.g., dense wind- and/or sun-affected snow, thin rain crusts, general WA mank) incredibly well and are surprisingly damp and stable in chopped-up pow. They definitely have a speed limit but given the set-up I'm running with them (~350 g binding plus freeride spacers and 1300 g boot), it's higher than expected.

In terms of sizing, I'm 5'10 and ~155 lbs and tend to like skis between 176 and 186. My daily driver touring ski is the Transalp 105 in a 178, and the 181 Dracos definitely ski shorter than those but not in a negative way.

Also, the tip clips that come on the BC-branded skins are absolutely infuriating but are easily replaceable with standard Pomoca bails

Just chatted with BC customer service and they confirmed that it’s the exact same ski as far as shape, construction, etc

I have some 190 Noctas that need to get mounted up. Anyone running pins on theirs? Or is better suited for a hybrid/alpine binding? Gonna be short tours for the deepest of days.

The skis third from left were a wicked set of Corvus. One of my favorite skis ever.
