I remounted my Atris with Shifts, still at +1. It will be interesting to see if the the longer binding footprint changes how they ski. Especially as I mounted them so I could use them at +1, but boot soles a 316 (mine er 296) are on the line - so the heel is further back than if mounted on the line at my boot sole length.

As much as I hate to admit it - they do look good.

They would look even better with some demons and skulls though

    $130 for shipping? Seriously?

Looks like they are in England. Still, that's a lot of clams for shipping. I had a pair of older Corvus (cambered) shipped from Spain for $65.00 U.S.

Any thoughts on the Orb Freebird? Looking for a good spring ski mountaineering ski/technical line ski. I was initially thinking Majesty Superwolf, but I found a really good deal on the Orbs.....

Orb freebird is pretty sweet. I have two buddies that rave about them on hard snow and in spring conditions. They are light and perform like a traditional alpine ski. Buy them.

on a even more fun note, the 196s originals are in my dirty paws and to add to the greatness, my new 2024 Corvus will be here Friday. Boing.

I like my Orb FBs a lot. Easy as hell to ski and looser than expected. I don’t know how well they’d do as an “icy mountaineering/steeps” ski as they’re softer than a zero g. I rarely do anything that steep/hard these days so haven’t tested the orbs there

Anyone have some actual weights on 2022-2023 Atris in 190cm? I think the stated weight is 2150/ski, but Evo has them in their actual weight chart closer to 2035. Looking at these versus the new QST Echo in a 189 for a do it all touring ski (mount will be ATK FR14). Thanks for any intel and if any one has comparisons on the current QST vs Atris, that would be great too!

Any more thoughts on the Mirus Cor?
Main use is chasing my two daughters (7&9) around EC resorts. They’re good enough and will ski almost anything but lean towards blue cruisers.
Speed limit on the Mirus sounds like it sucks, but skiing with them I don’t generally get near Mach looney speeds anyway (and have other skis for that if needed). Everyone swears by how “fun” it is, but is that like “it was fun to try once!” Or “I would grab these skis on most groomer days!”?

Alternatives currently considered are something more like a pure carving/all mountain ski (Stockli Montero AR/AX, Rossi ExpTi, Elan wingman 86 black) or ???

Not a big groomer guy, but I'd categorize the Mirus Cor as "I would grab these skis most groomer days" for sure. My takeaway was that they were really fun for the few days that I got to ski them, but I wished I could keep them in my quiver for good, as a backup for whenever conditions suck.

Well done. I’ve been eying the new releases and the prices are wild there is no doubt. I’m looking for a pair for my buddy but I think he missed the affordability boat. Will keep an eye on the used market.

I still want a pair of Animas basically just because…. Haha

I scored on a powder Hunter edition new in plastic and I’m a sucker. But my other noctas will now stay out west with my buddy with my bodacious 196 and my 2022 corvus 188. My new corvus is about to get drilled and my 186 bodacious stays east.

Man, the new Corvus topsheets are sick... but did they go on a diet? Listed at 1850 gr for the regular Corvus, but the Corvus Freebird tour ski says 1925 gr... Is that right?

    Corvus Freebird - https://www.black-crows.com/us/en/p/...6-pink-vg.html
Also, the new Draco Freebird looks like a sweet big mtn ski in its own right. Looks pretty cambered, but the description highlights pivot-ability...

I've always been Corvus curious as a possible replacement to my all time fave ski - EHP!

you aren’t internetting well, select the 188 Corvus and it’s 2150. No changes or diets from last year.

    Yep $$$...$ for sure.
New Solis is also way intriguing. Still on heavy end for an objective ski, but its now in the realm of reason. I guess the prior heavier version worked well in europe where gondy's can get you relatively close

Im interested to see what boxes the Draco checks that the ferox did not. I like my Corvus FB a lot, it’s great for all around snow conditions, where as the ferox didn’t enjoy anything that was relatively hard snow.

and can’t spend it when your dead, so you might as well spend it now and buy more skis guys…

being single has a lot of upsides. It’s pretty nice not having to justify new skis.
