Because I think I should. I mean, there must be something to it.

I've been obsessed with trying to figure out why, for positive integers a,b, if ab+1 divides a^2+b^2, then the resulting quotient is a square. I can prove that, for primes congruent to 3 mod 4, if p divides the quotient, then p^2 divides the quotient. But I am hung up on the case for primes congruent to 1 mod 4.

What I do believe is that people who are armed are more often DGAF about whether or not they offend someone with voicing their mind. They're also more likely to escalate, like road rage for example. The myth that "an armed society is a polite society" is totally busted IMHO..

Yeah, but not because of their ability to kill other humans.

    ^^^ Right?

WTF, we going to harden every place in America where more than 4 people can gather?
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

    C.

I thought about attempting to interact with you on this earlier today -

Very significant difference if we are talking about Public Schools than private businesses -

Also, groceries/retail are no longer necessary - you can order Everything delivered.

places of worship are not Public/government., and
I am going to set that aside for now...

about five years ago, I really Decreased my critical interaction with strangers, when I realized anyone I encountered could be armed - and
I don't want to get shot for engaging.

I have walked away many times...

    school Safety -
I would volunteer to be a hall monitor / Entrance monitor.
I am still Large ( though I am now old.
And I have thirty years related experience )

we can't make everyplace Safe. but we can make schools safer --

    good luck. tj

Schools are already better secured than most places. Are we going to get rid of all the ground floor windows in our schools? They'd be better off back in remote learning than in a maximum security prison environment. Even with bars on the windows, a bad actor with a cordless Dremel could get through the bars in a matter of minutes.

Ya, that's not the answer.. The answer is to reduce the tools available for the general public to carry out mayhem on a whim...

i remember a pro 2a enthusiast type lecturing me about how the assault weapons bill expiration did nothing, it seems like that wasn’t the case, washington post, biden, etc are claiming that shootings of 4 or more have tripled since the ban expired. not necessarily proof, but there sure are a lot of proverbial windows and doors to harden for accessing firearms before turning the schools to prisons.

    SJG -

Clearly, schools are not better secured than most places -
    schools are a primary target.
    Ground floor windows maybe an issue ;
bars on windows is little defense against a shooter
    ( And "a cordless Dremel" ? (Please) give me a break --
" minutes" - how long does it take to evacuate a classroom (?) )

again, schools are not prisons, even if you were to set a school up in a former prison facility
( on at least two important parameters, schools and prisons are Opposites regardless of physical facilities ).

( school) Safety is exactly the answer, And for at least the third time and probably the fourth time from me,
    IT INCLUDES BETTER firearm REGULATION ;

If the only thing you are willing to have done is firearm regulation,
Ten Years from now there will be no improvement, and you guys can do seventy-five more pages.

MTM, "Thanks, - " for reading, and

If only there was something we could do...

Clearly? Name any other business or group gathering place that requires drills for potential shooter scenarios
