SURPRISE - AZ and TX are big winners here.

Wonder if they realize how this contributes to the immigration and Fentanyl problems?
Well, what else are they gonna do with all those firearms they’re making?

Like you give a fuck about fent or immigration. You want to do ANYTHING to combat the fent crisis other than just make life harder for gun owners? give me afucking break.

If you cared about the fent crisis, which kills more people in the US than guns, or about immigration, you'd be arguing to secure the border, reform the legal entrance bureaucracy etc, but all you people care about is gun owners bad.

Even the fend crisis is gun owners fault somehow. You're a joke. Every single US bank has been caught knowingly laundering cartel money. THe us imprisons more of its population for profit than any other developed nation in the world. The powerful are making money off literally every step of this cycle, they don't want it changed. Restricitng gun rights for law abiding people isn't going to fix this situation.

That seems like the only thing you can find now. A few years ago it was easy to find studies that showed the cops regularity hired people the military rejected due to low IQ.

I only mentioned it because I was clarifying my mention of the police wasn't an appeal to authority, it was a practical observation that there aren't enough cops who are going to do the door kicking you guys fantasize over.

So, I'm notwrong about that. You guys want someone else to kick in doors for you, won't do it yourself, and won't even seriously stop and think how it would work. We don't have enough cops. But you guys won't be honest about what yuou're advocating for. Are you saying we should enact marshal law nation wide to facilitate this door kicking? You guys really think that'd do more good than harm for our country? Of course not, cus you dont think. You guys like to say things that are emotionally gratifying to you, then when someone calls out that what you're espousing doesn't even make sense, you focus on whetheror not this Leroy Jenkins guy could be WRONG about some unimportant ancillary point.

So yea, don't think about or reply to any of that.

The other problem is they don't stop an think about any of their ideas. They say things like 'i think it should be harder to get a gun' but aren't honest with themselvs that since there is no point where they;'ll ever say ok no, its hard enough, no more gun control. No, its ALWAYS just a few more laws, because its an attempt to cope with reality being chaotic. Reality will never cease to be chaotic, so its ALWAYS just a few more laws, and what they're really advocating is civilian disarmament.

The other problem is, as is evident in this thread, its often more about antipathy towards legal gun owners, and the desire that life just be harder for them., andthat the government ought to go do violence against them cus it makes the anti gunners dicks hard to think about. These attitudes convince a lot of people to buy more guns.

Truly an epic rebuttal. you're not saying my assessment is wrong. But yea go ahead and say the person saying it is crazy, based on nothing other than your disagreement and inability to articulate anything better.

    ‘Marshal’ law eh?

    Anyhoo…

Donald Trump’s license to carry a gun is expected to be revoked by the New York City police department now that he has been convicted of a felony, according to reports on Wednesday evening.

two articles I noticed this week:
not sure I agree suicides are a lesser known effect of gun ownership these days, but the NYT reports on rural men & suicide:

another "responsible gun owner" using his god given rights to demonstrate how to be a good guy with a gun: https://bikeportland.org/2024/06/07/...cameras-387258

^^^ you’d think PPB would have photos of this clown by now - from the cams he’s shooting at. Also sounds like he’s a shitty shot.

Saw the NYT piece this AM. I think the author called it a lesser known effect because most people seem focused on the mass shooting by AR issue. IIRC there’s two suicides by gun for every homicide by firearm.

Posted this in the country music thread but has a place in this convo too

right? they have enough resolution to identify drivers behind glare of a windshield... but standing in the street with his car behind him?
(altho maybe they do know who he is, but don't want to spook him prior to arrest...)

My son got a midnight call from a friend last week. The man's 20 year old son's car was found at the side of a dirt road. My son took his dog and searched the area. Found the young man dead of a self inflicted gun shot wound at 2 a. m. We'll see how it goes.

Remember this the next time Republicans talk about “voter ID”. They keep saying gun permits should count as legit ID. How does Trump even have a gun license in NY when he actually lives in FL ?

Because gun laws do not apply to the ultra rich. Even if he loses the ability to legally even possess a firearm, he can still hire as much armed security as he wants.

Also, suicides are not an effect of gun ownership. There is very little correlation between gun ownership and suicide stats by country. Some of the countries with highest suicide rates are very low gun ownership.

I get you guys don't like guns but saying guns cause' suicide is so silly, and you know it. NO one is like hey I love my life but holy shit theres a gun time for suicide.

Fent kills exponentially more people each year than die by gunshot, included self inflicted. Every major us bank has been caught knowingly laundering cartel money and given a slap on the wrist, probably less than the actual profit they made. The vast majority of murders are tied to the drug trade and gang problem and isolated geographically to areas where these are prevalent.

My rights aren't the problem here. The people making money off of every step in the cycle of the drug trade/war, really want us distracted by fighting over which parts of the bill of rights we prioritize and which parts we think are only valued by dumb people or something.

A lot ofyou just seem to have hard on for the idea of sending goons to do violence on your behalf.

The very best part is thatyou guys would still have a point without the mental gymnastics and gaslighting. but you're all so absurdly rabidly insane that you're going to alienate anything remotely considered a moderate, and turn people forever against any kind of gun control.

Thats really why I respond to this thread. I used to try to engage you guys civiliy, but then I realized, if I just troll you, you'll all be a wonderful advertisement against your own beliefs.

No, thats what you're trying to convince yourself of because you have no actual rebuttals to anything. Just like whenyou proved me 'factually incorrect' by posting some whataboutisms that didn't contradict me at all, or I got accused of narcissistic entitlement because I asked cisco to take a break from watching from the closet while his wife cucks him to explain just who is going to do all the door kicking he openly fantasized about when cops aren't willing to.

Nothings going over my head. But you sure need to feel like it is.
