Congrats to all of you that qualify for loan forgiveness. It has been long overdue and hopefully this will help attract high quality candidates to the public service realm and retain those currently serving the public.
I finished my education in 1995 and paid off my last student loan in 2020. I consolidated at low rates to spread out the payments in order to save for a house, and never regretted doing so. I've worked public service/non profits for 29 years. I hope the loan relief allows more of you to continue your public service careers.

Seemingly unrealized is that PSLF is a recruitment tool, especially for state/fed jobs where entry level positions for college grads are paying ridiculously low salaries compared to the private sector (not universally true, but true many disciplines in fed. employment). In order to get new grads in many fields to come to work you need to wave PSLF, student loan repayment (if available) and a big signing bonus (if available) under their nose in hopes that you can hold onto them for 2-5 years and they stick around past that because they like the job.
I logged into Mohela... it shows my loan balance unchanged... what does one need to do?

Trump calls President Biden’s student loan debt forgiveness “vile” and vows to reinstate student debt on millions of Americans.
