Now I'm questioning whether this is even the ski I want him on, but I guess I should have him try them out first.
The 96 is definitely more biased to the park side of the spectrum.

Volkl is weird because the Revolt family has pretty different characteristics across the width offering versus what you'd typically expect from a family of skis. I'd say you didn't fuck up as much as Volkl's grouping these very different skis all under the Revolt name is actually what is fucked.

My experience with my M102 as well…incredible ski until my shop guy gave them a grind without me asking. Never been the same. Just picked up a pair of Revolt 114, Hand of God…put a true bar on them, and sure enough, both skis are edge high in the middle, about 10” from tops and tails. Imma leave em alone and let em rip.

Arguably it is just the 114 that is out of place. The rest are symmetrical-ish freestyle skis that mount really far forward.

I do hate when companies just run wild with a line up name because it was successful.

Mantra V-Werks. Never seen them mentioned much around here?

How are they compared to BMT 94s and 109s? Similar or a fair bit more ski? How does that tail act in denser/funkier snow?

I'm still inclined to call it a fuck up. Obviously should have measured the factory line before mounting, and should have done some more homework on this ski instead of just relying on Evo's info. He sure loves that hornet graphic, though, so will probably just remount and hope for the best.

I remember reading something about how the R&D crew for the 114 designed it to be more chargy and directional. Everything else in the revolt line remains more playful, iirc.

Been enjoying my R114. 3 days on them at Wolf Creek.

Initial thoughts are 191 is plenty manageable for me at 5’10” & 140lbs. I felt in between sizes, but considered my intentions for the skis and went 191 specifically for skiing alpine terrain (of which WC has about 10 turns worth) & maching through pow. Finding they are responsive & fun elsewhere on the mtn too in the days after the storm.

Found I need to ski them w/ a neutral stance to rally through tight spots as opposed to trying to get in the front and drive them like a more traditional directional ski. Weight feels dialed to me. The tail is there if you need it, but I haven’t found it to be punishing at all as I thought I’d read somewhere. Still low tide so I haven’t fully opened them up in the alpine. But so far they feel stable when running out of bowls at some speed. Still feel like a Volkl on groomers.

Liking these more than I thought I might.

Mine are ever so slightly edge high.

I'm disappointed it took this many posts to get called out

Will probably do the remount myself. Had other priorities last weekend and have a great little shop near the house that I like to support.

CF - any noticeable tip dive?

I'm a front seat skier and always mount on the line. I have a sneaking suspicion these may be bottom feeders if I'm driving tips. Thots?

Also, I have about 60#'s on yas.

I saw you post that earlier and I’m curious about that too still.

The storm I skied was dense, warm maritime type snow, followed by warm temps. I didn’t really get a sense of how they float yet.

Mounted on the line. Boots are Solly S-pro Alpha’s. I like to ski from the front too. Once I backed off a little they became way more lively.

Maybe get some demo clamps for the kid’s revolts (especially if you’re going to remount anyway)? We have some revolt eighty-six’s with demo bindings. That version showed the two boot center lines. My kid enjoyed moving around the boot center around with the demo clamps.

Funnily enough I just picked up a pair of lightly used Squads with SPX 12 demos so this thought crossed my mind. He's pretty stoked on the Forza SPXs I got for these skis, though. Do the demo and non-demo SPX have the same hole pattern?

    I don't think so, no.

The only demo binder I know of that has the same pattern as the non-demo is the griffon, and it's only the same pattern at 315mm bsl.

Solved the problem by trading them in at a local shop that sells used gear for a pair of Sender 104 Ti with NX12 demos.

Skimmed through half this thread and there’s very little info on the blaze one fourteen. I like flatish skis with long mellow rocker. But the mount point seems crazy far back, and I’m confused as to where it actually is. Some say minus ten and another said minus ten is actually plus two of recommended. If minus ten is recommended I could see going plus two to end up at minus eight. Anyone have much time on them? Lack of info and current pricing tells me they haven’t sold many of these.

^ No time on 'em yet but can confirm the rec mount is -12. I mounted +1.5 of rec (-10.5) for mostly soft snow touring after reading the blaze thread. They have very little tail taper so I didn't want to go too far forward, but agreed -12 seemed too far back. We’ll see...

Finally got my new 184cm K108s out in the conditions (day after soft chop and wind buff ) I bought (actually I just couldn’t resist the deal) them for. Mounted on the line, and instantly comfortable. Didn’t disappoint, strong smooth and stable through variable, pivotable when required, and missiles on the groomers. Much closer to my M6s than my V-Werks Katanas. They’re at their best carving large arcs on a windbuffed open face, but are a handful (relative to my options) in anything tight and hoppity. For me, they’ll remain a quiver ski, but I can see them being pretty versatile for a strong skier in open terrain.

I have not been on the 114 but I own the 106 from a few years ago and put demo bindings on them and played with everything from +0.5 to +2 and I liked +2 the best and there's still a lot of tip out there and they float great for the width.

For reference, I tend to like all of the progressive mount skis at the back of the range but I like these forward.

Thanks for the info. I was debating between the blaze and atomic backland. Backland has a mount point much more agreeable to my style.
