I finally got around to skiing Revolt 121s today, mount at -2 at the time of skiing.

I can easily understand how a lot of people love these. They are great, especially in soft snow where they are super predictable, poppy, super easy to release and float well.

They were not perceiveed as being as capable on hard snow as for instance Koala119s - but that could also be down to the marker griffon demo binders that were on them, we did not get along.

Great skis.

Nice lineup. I’m a step behind you, building the narrow end now. How do you find the Kendo’s compare to the M6?

So I picked up a pair of 184 Kendos this year too, mostly to ski w my son but they're great. We've been playing follow the leader and I wanted something that he could see carve from behind me at slower speeds.

Unbelievable off piste for an 88, they're dynamite in steep chalk for example. Haven't been on too many 88s though but way more zest than my recently sold brahmas or mx88s I've demoed in the past.

I could ski all the same lines as I would w my bigger skis, but a definite speed limit and a touch carvier, kind of just feels like you're trucking with a governor on. In my head I've been calling them pocket mantras. Quiet too, love them.

Our 40 day dry stretch just ended here in Sun Valley, but it stayed cold. Mostly chalk off piste and I was on the Kendo a bunch. Tons of fun, very capable, punches above its weight.

This morning was just my second day on the M6. More like the Kendo than different. Doesn't rail the groomers quite as well but no surprise there. Otherwise excellent, especially in the leftover chop. I really just made my normal turns in snow that lots of people would avoid.

I also own the Nordica Enforcer 88. To be honest I can't really distinguish it from the Kendo. I've had the Nordica since last season and I'll make the it my early/late/rock ski. The extra 2 cms on the Nordica might appeal to some. For me, 184 is my sweet spot.

Bry and Beder - thanks for the reviews and comparisons. I’ve got a 184 M6 and a 2019 187 Brahma 88. Really encourage d by what you shared about the off piste capabilities of the Kendo. That’s where I have found the Brahma a bit meh.

Beder - seeing your “family photo” inspired me to mount up my Kendo’s this afternoon and take my own photo. [emoji16]. These for Warden 13 demos so I can share with friends and Bandit Jr.

Hmmm. Weird that you feel so little difference between them.

I had first year 88s and felt they had too much tip rocker for their (my) use. Had to lean them over very far to get the tips to engage, and didn’t get that great edgehold in return.

Mantra 102s are on the other hand a very intuitive ski that allows both mellow cruising and «aggressive» skiing without feeling off in either situation.

Not really and sometimes. But based on maybe six days on them they seem more ideal for the limited bumps I do see than anything else I can think of.

Looking at picking up a pair of Revolt 121s and trying to decide on length. SoCal based, but spend most of my pow days at Mammoth, 5'10 155, advanced intermediate/advanced. I'm a traditionally directional skier, but looking for something more playful and stable for the Sierra Cement. Have a pair of Wailer 112s in 184 that are plenty maneuverable, but get deflected a bit much for my liking. Also have a pair of Pagoda Piste 90RPs in 184 that are plain perfect. Those are both skis that ski a bit short. I've come to realize that my Enforcer 100 185s are a bit too long for me, so trying to determine if the 121s in a 177 are better or 184. Any thoughts on length?

I would go 184. With the rocker and twin tips, they ski shorter.

I may have a pair of this years for sale with Griffon 13's for sale. I haven't skied them this year, just a handful of days last year. With the 114, they don't really fit my current quiver.

Probably 184 is the answer due to the progressive mount... but if you decide you want to try the 177, corbetts has a couple years ago model brand new for $299 Canadian with free shipping.

Second day on my new 184cm M6 Mantras, bought to replace my 184 M4 Mantras. Was hoping they’d up my groomer game, and they certainly deliver. Any turn shape, any speed, silky smooth, and with tenacious bite. Compared to my M4s I initially wasn’t feeling as comfortable in mixed bumps, cut up snow, and pockets of fresh, like I wasn’t getting the same feedback from the full length of the ski (wondering if I’d gone too short), but by day two I seem to have adapted, finding I could focus completely on playing with the terrain because the variations in snow quality just didn’t matter. The M4s have been a great all mountain ski, but the combination of manoeuvrability and unflappability on these is something special.

Anybody been on the Deacon Master 72? Looking for a carvy skis for icy groomers.

Haven't skied the 72, but if it's anything like the 76 (which it is), it rocks. The Master 76 is some crazy witchcraft. The skis are weirdly floppy in the hand, but they grip really well on groomers. The real fun is when the surface isn't perfectly smooth - the ash core is so flexible but damp they just hold an edge through anything. Also very easy to ski through bumps, steeps, whatever. Definitely snag them.

Just pulled the trigger for m102’s. In 170(!) - eek! 155lb tele skier. Haven’t had skis this short since the 80’s when I was a little kid. Also haven’t bought brand new skis in 15 yrs.

100% 184.

177s will probably feel like snowlerblades with very little ski in front of you, even coming off short effective edge rp shapes / especially coming off directional DPS skis. Even if my time on them is very limited, R121s are not challenging skis to ski and getting a pair that is longer and heavier will make the transition to a more progressively mounted ski easier imho. I would not be afraid of the tails being overly long, there is so much splay and a very long rocker zone, so they should be fairly easy to adjust to.

They ski well at -2 and it is where I would mount them too

My eye sees little difference between Kendo and M6. Tip Rocker on Katana looks to start 8 or 10 cm earlier.





Tails are similar. Katana starts a few cm earlier.
