Ya I heard the reference to the 114 in the Eder Blister podcast. Wondering about that “directional” comment as well. The Revolt 104 and 121 getting mounted soon. Going -2cm on the 180cm 104 (-3.75cm) and -1cm on the 184cm 121 (-3.75cm). It would surprise me if a Revolt 114 was way further back than say -6cm? If so, why call it a Revolt.
Here’s hoping it’s a 181cm at -5cm!

Am I crazy or are the rocker lines deeper in the mantra/secret than the katana?
I bought my wife some secret 102 and I was just staring at them next to my katana and I swear the secret has more rocker. Less taper, similar camber, stiffer, but more rocker in the narrower ski... which is a little surprising.

M6 vs Mantra 102 for daily driver in CO? Rarely ski groomers, mostly tight trees and bumps and billygoating. Have other skis for deeper pow.
I skied the M6 last season for 4 days in Andermatt. I loved it but felt it only had one weak spot, I wanted it to go faster.
So I bought a pair of M102's as I feel they're gonna be a tad more stable at speed.
The M6 in a 184 would be my go to for what you're talking about.
I demo'd the 191 and feel that would be overkill in the tight spots. YMMV
I only demoed both for a couple runs apiece, but I feel like the M6 would be better for your purposes. The M102 felt a little more locked in and it was stiffer so a bit more of a handful in very tight spots. In my opinion you should consider fully rockered Volkls (M4 Mantra, 100eight, V-Werks Katana, old Katanas).
Thought these were worth sharing. Was in the middle of trying to convince the wife last night that full price VWerks Katanas were a long term value decision (thanks for the idea Benneke!), when these popped up on Marketplace. Minty 2015 (?) 191s for $500 CDN. Gentleman said his father skied them 3 times, and honestly, had he cleaned the rust off the edges from storage, he could have convinced me they'd never seen snow. Gonna pull the Jesters and mount a Duke PT 12 for Spearhead slack duty. Christmas came early.

Surprised (in a very good way) at how little splay these have. These tick all the boxes (traditional mount, 2000ish grams, 190ish length, 25m+ R), but been afraid of going reverse. No more. Amped to get on these. Thanks all for the assist.

Nice, thanks for the input guys. I'm 6'2" and 190lbs, but I was 220 the last few seasons. Never had a hard time flexing skis, but that might be different now with my new found skinniness. I don't expect it to be a problem though. haha.
Lately I've been on some 4frnt MSP99s that are OK, but I never loved them till I beat them up a bit. Definitely want something a little burlier in the flex category. My other skis are ON3P BGs.
I guess I can't go wrong either way though.
Fucking jealous. You wanna sell those clamps?! Or don’t sell the clamps and I would do inserts on them for the dukes and the jesters and use your pt heel piece and a jester toe when you aren’t touring on them. I do that on my nocta. Those toe pieces are expensive to break.
Thanks Joey. Not sure what I'm going to do with the clamps yet. Plan was to stick to a 5 clamp rule to reduce quiver bloat, but these kinda fell in my lap, soo...they're currently on the line so have to overanalyze that first and take it from there. Felt like I got away with something nefarious when I got home with em. Pretty rad.
Congrats on dropping 30 lbs. I'm only down 15, but curious to see how it translates on snow. Haven't skied the M6 so cant help the comparison, but the 191 M102 on the line, felt a bit cumbersome at very slow speeds in tight spots as compared to say 189 B97s or 191 K108s (both at +1). They're manageable, but stiff (almost CMD 118 stiff) and heavy swing weight; sized down though could be a different story. Freight trains on the groom, and I had no problem bending em when up to speed. I'd also like to try em forward, cause chances are I was doing it wrong. 6'2, 200#. Good winter.

Thanks for the assist! Been fun reading all the VWerks K mini threads over the last year, and realizing the following these have generated over the last 8 (?) years from numerous mags. Serendipitous for sure as I missed out on a sale pair in the Spring for twice the price, but I'll take it! Need to ski these first, but already starting the Katana 112 research, haha.
Ok so different lengths, but still...
Below is my 177 k108 and my wife's new 170 secret 102.
The bases are taped where they naturally touch... I'm just keeping the bases touching to show it and the tape is a good visual indicator.
The rocker lines are definitely deeper on the secret (/mantra) in this case.
The secret have been raised up so the bindings are in roughly the same place for comparison.

Probably should do that. I’ve owned four pairs of the metal 112-mm waist Katanas (1st year 190, 2nd year 183, rockered 190, and now rockered 184). I had barons on the V-Werks but ditched those a few years back. Thought about Shifts but leaning towards Duke PT’s. Will probably mount some demos on the Green Ninja’s so my kid can ski them, too.
The K108 is my favorite, though. [emoji6]

They are all great skis and definitely share the same DNA, even the V-Werks. The full rocker design is so good on a day when one is hanging off-piste on the steep and deep. They are just a smidge too wide, have a pretty large turn radius, and are “meh” on groomers to be a resort charger for most people.
For most resort days, the K108 is a much more fun, versatile, yet as competent charger (as you already know). It’s definitely the best resort-friendly Katana. It’s funny that the Katana was originally thought of as a fat Mantra. The K108 is the model that best meets that description.
The V-Werks is probably the most appropriate application of the original Katana design for the way Pow get chewed up so quickly these days. Use it as a 50/50 touring rig. It’s great in Pow and handles pretty well once things get tracked out. However, it’s got a reasonable weight for the up. The original owner of the metal Katanas put Barons on them. That right there shows you how much things have changed over the past decade plus.

Just skied my wife's new 170cm secret 102.
On the icy WROD they were noticeably more precise than my longer 177 K108... and even in the 170 they felt great, surprisingly not "short feeling".
And I did a test where I leaned way back to see if the heels would punish that... nope... release easily even leaning way back. I was testing this to make sure my wife won't get owned by these since she's more of an intermediate skier and they are quite stiff.
I'm now super confident she can handle them and I might even keep taking them out myself... very fun!
