I was debating between the blaze and atomic backland. Backland has a mount point much more agreeable to my style.
I’ve got some one eighty-two cm Backland one zero sevens for sale if you’re interested. Drilled for ATK raiders but never skied

Here's an early Xmas present for all the Volkl mags,

25/26 Mantra 88, formerly the Kendo, tip is getting wider and turn radius is going to be a shade shorter. I will have my hands on them Monday I think, and will ski them sometime during Xmas week.

25/26 Revolt 101..... skinnier version of the 114. All the details I have now, but should be on them next week as well.

Ohh, been on the 114’s most days this season as they are the loosest skis in my resort quiver…101 sounds good as it hasn’t snowed for weeks.

So with an abundance of pragmatism I decided to re-use the same holes on my 2014 Katana for newer gripwalk royals as they somehow managed to have the same BSL fit from the previous owner. Of course when I finally bother to give a check to the matter my lack of diligence is paid off by finding out those crazy bastards put that original mount at PLUS-THREE; not even marked. So that's why the tail felt unwieldy.

How boned am I and/or what experience does anyone have with those sticks at that mount?

Got a Mt Baker day on my 184 Revolt 121’s. Some good pow up top, and kinda sticky/icy/manky Baker snot at the bottom.

Dang these are good skis in tough snow that is not groomed.

Mine straight pull at 182 cm and I'm mounted 87.5 cm from the tail so -3.5 cm (I think rec is -2.8 cm) and they felt great there. No tip dive in pow but you gotta stay centered, and keep some pressure on the tails.

Really good addition to the quiver for when it’s deep and chunky and you want to mob through chunder. Picked these up for ~$260US delivered with tax on Black Friday! Glad I did.

KC - love this report! Thanks for sharing. Hoping to get mine out over the next week (assuming the forecast holds). Need that crust buried a bit more. Love the idea of a powder tool that deals with funky PNW snow well.

    Hey bandit!

This ski feels heavy but does turn not heavy if that makes sense? It's very easy to pivot and slarve cause of the super tapered tips and so much tip/tail splay. It feels pretty strong underfoot so you can go fast through conditions where it goes from chopped up pow to firm and then back to pow. I'm happy with the 184 length and the -3.5 cm mount...thought about going back a bit more but I want this ski to be very maneuverable and thought going back more would make it conflict with my HL R120 Swallowtail, which is -6.75 cm. The tails feel a bit long at -3.5 cm but once I got used it (1 run), you kind of just ride this ski on the balls of your feet. Super fun ski for variable 3D conditions....which I think all quivers need.

Ps you need to get up to Whistler...it's dumping this week and this ski will be a great inbounds pow ski for there when it gets chopped up quickly.

Skied them right up to the beer boundary for a frosty IPA!

Anyone know the factory edge angles for
    BMT 94
    BMT 109
    Kanata v-werks?

Do shops just put a 2:1 on every ski by default?

Q for owners / shop pros on the M7 Mantra; is -12.2 the preferred mount point (@177cm)? TIA!

Not sure exactly which line that hits, but I was skiing them last year on the middle line. Seemed to hook up better for me. I also ski pretty centered tho.

    M102, middle line
    Kendo- Middle line
    M6- forward line
    Mantra 88(25/26)- middle line.
    R121- -2.5
    R114- on the line
R101(25/26)- -3 or more I have to measure where the demo bindings ended up, but they were 3 clicks back.

Heh, that looks good too. We decided early on that the topsheet depicts the hand of God tickling Eve's wrinkled starfish. Prolly gonna take a digger for that...

@me? only on the standard line for me. Ever. I ski in the front seat always. No tailgunning or upright stance.
Our venues are very different though.

I'll roll them out next smooth and soft day.

Wife has been loving her new Secret 102s, but only a few weeks into the season and both tips are delaminating. Bummed. Click image for larger version.

The mount point seemed pretty far forward. Compared to my R114 that was in the pic, closer to center than that by 2ish cm. Once I found the sweet spot, still to be measured, but 3 or 4 clicks back on the demo binders, they ripped. Skied a lot like my M102, but rocker in the tip and tail they engaged easy and released great.

I am a midwest guy, so I don't have a lot of terrain. It was warm and the snow set up really well and was closer to hardpack in the morning. When the snow was mush in the afternoon, they carved awesome and were blasting thru the mash potato left behind from everyone else. My pair shows up in the next week or so and I will get plenty more time on them this winter. They may replace my M102 for a trip to Jackson.

Nice review. Are they more of a directional ski and not like the current 104? Essentially a skinny 114?

That product line theme is a bit wacky.
