Question 2005 Utah Mini Summit Thread 1-Yes or no?

Who is interested in having this go down again?

What kind of timeframe do you all want to look at? When is the Summit?

Do it the same or mix it up with touring the Wasatch in small groups (this could be a whole nother event to handle)?

    What mountains?

    How many days?

Will you bring a storm with you so it was not like last year?
(I blame Tuffy, he did not come last year)

I want to know what I am getting into this year and make sure I can do what is needed as I am travelling more.

I know this Mini is a substitute for many versus the Summit, so chime in.

Best chance for powder is January through March. My vote would be for the mini to be within that timeframe.

    I saw that now.

I would still like to plan this as my last year on the circuit. I was thinking of retirement, but want to piss off the French.

I would certainly use your help as always AC or co organize till I pass the torch.

This is one thing I really enjoy doing and I would like to have that chance one more time.

Lets co organize! That way when I pass the torch to you, you are already at a running start. Fred said one time to me that he is in awe of how I do this every year, he won't ever do it again.

Hahaha, I think all Summit organizers are forever exempt from doing another. You're the only one <cool, stupid, deranged, pick one> enough to actually volunteer.

I plan on doing it this year. But, I am trying to do Str8line's camp also. If they coincide, I am in. I just can't afford BC this year.

SLC is too easy of a flight to pass up. 4.5 hours on the plane, leaving at 8 am here puts me in SLC at 10:30. Plenty of time to get an extra half day on the mountain. Plus, they give you a voucher.

Edit- Not to jinx it, but I am also a pretty good bringer of storms. Just ask BaseWeldr. They were having a pretty shit year till I showed up.

Hehe, but I love it (deranged is prolly best). Altachic is next for the torch, but a Mini is easier, epecially here.

She will be VERY involved this year and have a very good idea of how to pull it off without a hitch next year, I will be in full retirement then (but I will still come ).

Exclamation Times when you can come!!!

    Timing, need times.

I need notice to try and do a lot better on discounts!!!
Tell me now of pay more!!!

I don't think it would be a problem on the MINI summit's end and with Gordy for it to possibly coincide with a camp (as long as no one is poaching the camp) but I will talk to him and ask. But there may be issues. Will advise.

I have yet to ski with anyone on this board, so I'm in. Any date is good for me, and I have a car with extra room.

Is that frowned upon? Cause there were a couple of times during the second camp last year that I leaned in and listened to some pointers. But, I was just hangin' w/ Xover, so any incidental contact w/ campers was entirely his fault.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

    So Xover was poaching too?

That is all up to Gordy, he does have two kids to feed and he is all old and all.

For the purposes of planning, someone needs to consolidate shit into one thread.

Early Dec. seems to be a popular time in the summit forum thread. I'm not around for a bit of that (probably a weekend around the ~10th), but would be willing to help out (rides, putting one or two people up at casa stump) and obviously ski, at any other time in december except immediately around christmas.

Bag made a good point that we shoudl avoid christmas to new years, simply for crowd reasons.

Now worries, first thread to get an idea. The "Official" thread will be starting in Summits and I will post here to let all know when I start it. Altachic and I have to talk before I start it, she has good ideas I don't think of.

Since last year was December, I personally say no way. We had no good snow, no storms. Christmas, New Years is pretty hard with crowds I know and airfare for some is high. Prolly not. I really like February personally. Damn, I think I am getting personal.

Stump, I have done this before and will do better this time.
