    I just read...

...the printed-out thread I have saved from 2 1/2 years ago from the Powder boards when I hit a tree and busted my shizzle all up. Sadly that thread was lost in the archive deletion.

Not sure why I pulled it out to read; I haven't looked at it in probably 1 1/2 years. But despite the nasty memories, it gave me a big warm and fuzzy about the maggots. SOOO many names posted in that thread who are still around it's amazing (the thread was started 3/11/03). As one small example, bagtagley chimed in on the first page when I'd never met him, and now he's one of my best MTB buddies. Crazy. This community is freakin' tight for the most part, and is filled with such good people (despite the summer flame wars).

Anyway just wanted to give a shout-out to the maggots cuz most of you are freakin cool folks. Word.

    That's cool.

Can you imagine being 80 years old, with a lot of time on your hands and reading through the full spectrum of the history of this board?

    The ultimate time capsule.

    God - that's an absolutely scary/funny/cool/weird thought.

Imagine showing your kids the board, your exchanges, etc. Puts a whole new perspective on it....

Isn't time on your hands pretty much a given at 80? Better start backing up data.

    Pretty cool J...

I still have the pages I printed off from when I blew my knee out. It still amazes me how many kind words, and good things were said in there. That thread is also gone from that whole incident.

I'm glad I kept those pages.

And, I've got the printed version of the thread that my GF brought to me in the hospital filed safely away.

The support makes an enormous difference.

Heh, I was a newbie then if I recall.

I felt for you, and I NEVER ride of ski now (since that thread) with a full bladder.

yes, I'm now making and marketing "The Josh" which is a little neoprene cup (with velcro) that you attach to your penis and is attached to some surgical tubing that you run down your leg for the stealth anywhere piss. Comes in super handy for the tramline.

    You're Joshing, right?

I remember that thread. I even remember a link to the hospital where we could send get well cards. It was strange being so concerned about a person I'd never met. Now, it seems so natural to provide support for a fellow "family" member.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

I was tracking you from the hill to the hospital. Whooda thought a gimp could move so fast? And I barely know you.

bag, LB is dead serious. I've heard plenty about this new contraption Too funny.

Cool to hear other folks have printed off get-well threads; it really does make a difference. Splat you were on top of the whole sitch, I remember it well!

Anyway I get out to Cali tonight and the wife has suddenly decided I SHOULD get the femur rod removed...it is bugging me after all. I know some mags have had them taken out...how was the recovery? Anyone? I'll probably wait till after ski season, but might be worth looking into before then if the recovery is quick.
