You just knew Michael Moore would chime in...

    Friday, September 2nd, 2005

    Dear Mr. Bush:

Any idea where all our helicopters are? It's Day 5 of Hurricane Katrina and thousands remain stranded in New Orleans and need to be airlifted. Where on earth could you have misplaced all our military choppers? Do you need help finding them? I once lost my car in a Sears parking lot. Man, was that a drag.

Also, any idea where all our national guard soldiers are? We could really use them right now for the type of thing they signed up to do like helping with national disasters. How come they weren't there to begin with?

Last Thursday I was in south Florida and sat outside while the eye of Hurricane Katrina passed over my head. It was only a Category 1 then but it was pretty nasty. Eleven people died and, as of today, there were still homes without power. That night the weatherman said this storm was on its way to New Orleans. That was Thursday! Did anybody tell you? I know you didn't want to interrupt your vacation and I know how you don't like to get bad news. Plus, you had fundraisers to go to and mothers of dead soldiers to ignore and smear. You sure showed her!

I especially like how, the day after the hurricane, instead of flying to Louisiana, you flew to San Diego to party with your business peeps. Don't let people criticize you for this -- after all, the hurricane was over and what the heck could you do, put your finger in the dike?

And don't listen to those who, in the coming days, will reveal how you specifically reduced the Army Corps of Engineers' budget for New Orleans this summer for the third year in a row. You just tell them that even if you hadn't cut the money to fix those levees, there weren't going to be any Army engineers to fix them anyway because you had a much more important construction job for them -- BUILDING DEMOCRACY IN IRAQ!

On Day 3, when you finally left your vacation home, I have to say I was moved by how you had your Air Force One pilot descend from the clouds as you flew over New Orleans so you could catch a quick look of the disaster. Hey, I know you couldn't stop and grab a bullhorn and stand on some rubble and act like a commander in chief. Been there done that.

There will be those who will try to politicize this tragedy and try to use it against you. Just have your people keep pointing that out. Respond to nothing. Even those pesky scientists who predicted this would happen because the water in the Gulf of Mexico is getting hotter and hotter making a storm like this inevitable. Ignore them and all their global warming Chicken Littles. There is nothing unusual about a hurricane that was so wide it would be like having one F-4 tornado that stretched from New York to Cleveland.

No, Mr. Bush, you just stay the course. It's not your fault that 30 percent of New Orleans lives in poverty or that tens of thousands had no transportation to get out of town. C'mon, they're black! I mean, it's not like this happened to Kennebunkport. Can you imagine leaving white people on their roofs for five days? Don't make me laugh! Race has nothing -- NOTHING -- to do with this!

You hang in there, Mr. Bush. Just try to find a few of our Army helicopters and send them there. Pretend the people of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast are near Tikrit.

    Yours,

    Michael Moore

P.S. That annoying mother, Cindy Sheehan, is no longer at your ranch. She and dozens of other relatives of the Iraqi War dead are now driving across the country, stopping in many cities along the way. Maybe you can catch up with them before they get to DC on September 21st

For starters, it was posted twice by two different people in this thread, a thread you posted 3 times in.

I think you're a good guy Gordy, and we had a good talk last Fall.

Just please read more, think more and spam less. Sounds like not enough individual thinking, and too much trendy propaganda is doing it's magic on you.

    Spellin' edit.

Once again Moore is right, but it's hardly news that Bush is an incompetent ass clown.

Is this a form of trendy propaghanda?

Nope. You can get a good taste of that on the nightly news.

I just figured he'd be trotting around the South with his camera by now.

    My bad, I missed that.

But please quit telling me to think for myself. I've thought Bush was an incompetent moron from day one (pre-2000). And I've been vociferent about my disagreements with his policies here on the board since day one.

I believe speaking your mind is important no matter where you stand on the issues though and for that I try to undertand any dissenting opinions. I don't get my news from just the sources that I think will back me up-in fact I seek out opposing opinions.

This latest fiasco in N.O. is just one in a series of collossal misjudgements at its best or just sheer incompetence at its worst(track record suggests the latter) on the part of Bush that go back to the first days of his presidency.

You have always seemed to agree with most of his policies-often to the point of being a douchebag about it.

Are you now willing to admit how wrong you were?

Can you name a single Bush policy or even several that have actually set the foundation for our nation and world being a more viable place for human inhabitation in the future?

Oh, and please spare me any "trendy propoganda".

I don't want wanna seem like an ass, but in some ways I hope that this shows how full of the shit the republicans really are. I do feel sorry for the victims in N.O. (my family is all in New England or my grandparents in Florida), though I am donating money to them. It is a shame how bad the bush admin. has been slow to act on this. Hopefully we can have a democratic congress and\or senate in '06.
Always charging it in honor of Flyin' Ryan Hawks.

I think this is pretty much true about you. You seemed to really want to know my opinions when we met in SLC.

This latest fiasco in N.O. is just one in a series of collossal misjudgements at its best or just sheer incompetence at its worst(track record suggests the latter) on the part of Bush that go back to the first days of his presidency.
This incident was a total disaster, and was handled in the worst way possible.

You have always seemed to agree with most of his policies-often to the point of being a douchebag about it.

Are you now willing to admit how wrong you were?
This is where we disagree. I approach each subject/incident/matter without predjudice and come to my own conclusion. Each subject is different. Bush totally fucked up the NO disaster, but that's not to say he won't do a good job on the next big thing to happen. Just because Bush screwed the pooch on this, doesn't mean everything he's done is terrible. I don't feel like I was wrong in the past simply because of this NO debacle. Your kneejerk partisan politics are the same as Bush, you just happen to be on the other side of the fence. You'll blindly swing the liberal flag with Natty to represent your party.

Can you name a single Bush policy or even several that have actually set the foundation for our nation and world being a more viable place for human inhabitation in the future?
This subject is a can of worms that I really don't want to get into the middle of right now. There are both pros/cons of Iraq, Afghanistan, Bolton, conservative supreme court appointees, etc.

Holy shit Blurred, you're kidding right? You're giving him shit about re-posting something, and you've got more useless fucking posts than anyone on this board. Maybe if you quit posting about tacos, then everyone else can quit re-posting articles.

Yes, I know you're upset that I like OGRE and you don't. Tacos get posted to avoid flame wars and cunt up threads that have already been posted several times.

Haven't you learned str8 that it's pointless to engage blurred in a debate or discussion? Don't waste your time dude. Many people here have realized that and just let him spew his irrational, self-aggrandizing, ignorant BS. You know what happens when you wrestle with a pig...

Aren't you from the LP? Moore stood up for MI when people were getting screwed. That's always been worth something to me.

You and Tuffelmire need to take Mikey out to Nub's Knob some time, you know, just for the good of it.

Close-minded ignorance. Go blindly wave your flag elsewhere.
