For those of you, like myself, struggling to understand why he endorsed Trump.

Oh you thought Spencer Cox had a spine???
the special session about ballot initiaitives is infuriating, but even more so is the new lawsuit for the supreme court about the blm lands within Utah.

I don’t hate Utah itself, I hate the people running it.
Did not read the article, but I can't say I struggled to understand. Every other conservative that took a principled stand on Trump committed political suicide. It seemed pretty obvious to me that he realized he had to choose between his integrity and his political career and he chose the latter.
effin' dweeb
such a colossal waste of taxpayer dollars. Sean Reyes is a greasy amateur and has zero ethics. hopefully this just helps SUWA.
just finished reading Leave It As It Is by David Gessner. pretty decent worshipping at the altar of Teddy. we live in such a greedy culture, especially here in Utar.
bumps are for poor people
Yeah, I had the same take as Dan before reading the article. I read the article and his take more or less sums it up with only a slight variation. Cox says his decision was about influence and being a team player:
"But Cox was surprisingly transparent about the calculation he was making. He told me that the Never Trump movement had utterly failed, and said he’d come to realize that he couldn’t have any influence on the modern GOP “if I’m not on the team”—that is, Trump’s team. “It’s absolutely a litmus test. I don’t think it should be. I wish it wasn’t that way. But it is.”"
LOL. Because the "I'm going to hitch myself to this wagon so I can be a force for good" strategy has worked out so well for people. John Kelly, et al. would like a word. Sold out for nothing.
So how’s it looking out in Utah for senator? Has Gleich been making any headway?
Some rich hippies should take advantage of SB258,buy up some Utah land in a shitty conservative county, make a leftist Utopia party city for 5 years, then bail and leave that county with the bag.

Lets wait til the federal land lawsuit is won, then buy up some primo land for MTB trail networks and build some low income housing for dirtbags who will come and ride/build it.
What is it with Utah politicians with "Lee" in their name that makes them complete pieces of shit?

Utah needs a year round Burning man east on some of that land...
We have one, though it's annually rather than year-round.

The fact this was even entertained was astonishing. Yeah, screw the voice of the people. Fucking Utah.

IMO. This ruling was dogshit. It did nothing to close the door on future shenanigans by the legislature. It almost fell solely on the argument that they failed to advertise the amendment in the newspaper for two months prior to it appearing on the ballot. Mark my words, a similar amendment will be back and it will meet the notification requirements.
If you really want to get pissed, check out Amendment A. The legislature thinks they should be able to dip into education funds for whatever the fuck they want and they had the balls to tie it to the proposition of removing tax on food. If you thought schools were underfunded now......

Glad Amendment D was found unconstitutional because I feared utah voters would accidentally vote for it the way those asshat legislators wrote it. (The part about protecting Utah from foreign influence and California)
I’m sure it’ll be back in a new form on the next ballot….
Coming from the party that prefers to 86 the Dept of Education from existence, this is not remotely surprising. With my child in college I am not necessarily paying close attention to where my education tax dollars go. But yes, this kind of legislation is just insane.

With a child who will start school in a couple years and another soon to be on the way, this shit makes my blood boil. Especially coming from a country where education is essentially free. It almost makes me consider applying for citizenship so I can vote, something I swore to myself I'd never do as a matter of pride and principle.
