Bad math. The Heritage foundation went full MAGA. The vast majority of the aid money for Ukraine stays in United States. Of the $61 billion for Ukraine in the most recent package, for example, only about 26% or just under $16 billion goes towards actual Ukrainian military aid.

The rest is for increased US munitions production, to procure replacement equipment for American troops, DOD R&D, support cybersecurity, pay for increased American EUCOM deployments, pay for Russian war crimes investigations, loans to Ukraine for the Economic Support Fund, loans for Europeans to fund purchases from the US, and the list goes on.

Heritage foundation's poor reporting feeds into Russian disinformation by fooling people into believing Ukraine is being sent nearly an order of magnitude more aid than in reality. American politicians are worse. They're failing to send aid in the types and quantities that Ukraine actually needs. We can only hope Washington does better in the future.

What your saying is right, but still the arms were given to Ukraine, now that have to be replaced.

Just think what the us could've done with 160 billion. And it was all for nothing, just helped kill hundreds of thousands ukrainian soldiers, and Russians.

And a sign of intelligence is the ability to keep two contradictory ideas at the same time. I condemn Russia for invading Ukraine, and i also condemn the us and eu for keeping the war going.

And i condemn our politicians for straight out saying that this was the best investment ever, because no us soldiers died. Cynical because ukrainians died.

    FIFY.

Your condemnation is bullshit. $1 today on military aid saves $5 tomorrow in humanitarian aid. --a pacifist

As always Rod is wrong, and dumb. Most of the the items in the Ukraine aid bills go for other Department of Defense needs (this has all been covered before when Rod brought up the same Russian talking points) not actual aid for Ukraine. Much of what we send is decades old often expired idle military equipment and at the same time build new equipment American troops actually need.

A sign of intelligence would be stepping away from Zero Hedge and other Russian propaganda sources, and for once contend with what the Kremlin really wants to accomplish: the total destruction & erasure of Ukraine. Ukraine still stands, Europe & the world are safer, because of aid to Ukraine and most of all because of Ukrainian sacrifice.

Squared circles are only a sign of intellect within authoritarianism, Rod.

To know and not to know, to be conscious of complete truthfulness while telling carefully constructed lies, to hold simultaneously two opinions which cancelled out, knowing them to be contradictory and believing in both of them, to use logic against logic, to repudiate morality while laying claim to it, to believe that democracy was impossible and that the Party was the guardian of democracy, to forget whatever it was necessary to forget, then to draw it back into memory again at the moment when it was needed, and then promptly to forget it again: and above all, to apply the same process to the process itself -- that was the ultimate subtlety: consciously to induce unconsciousness, and then, once again, to become unconscious of the act of hypnosis you had just performed. Even to understand the word 'doublethink' involved the use of doublethink.

If we learned anything from WWII Russia will just keep sending troops even if they are not typical military grade recruits

I think this lady is tough as nails

My neighbor is 97 and she said Covid was nothing compared to rationing in WWII

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Interesting media coverage the last week, I smell a rope-a-dope. Supposedly truthful coverage that is less optimistic is not as profitable. I believe it, when things are more dire this thread is more quiet and then Rod chimes in and people respond.

Im not going to post it but there’s Russian shot video of one of their recent successful advances with a body every 5m or so for almost a half km, most of them Russian.

I've seen a bunch of dead Russians and a poached deer cause me more sympathy. Drop a bomb on a Russian playing dead, whatever. Anyway rope-a-dope and in through the back door. It will be interesting to see if Russia collapses militarily, politically or economically first.

The US was to passive and conservative. Europe/West/ NATO was forced to step it up. Fall of the Berlin Wall like situation is inevitable.

Ouch, this has got to hurt Rod, his investments and his insistence that sanctions aren’t working.

It doesn't appear that Russia's demographic crisis is getting any closer to a solution.
