I trust you can read those posts? See Summits response for additional commentary on why this is a shitball way to view the world.
Yeah. I missed those. Again, threads blowing up too fast. That said, I still don't really think any of those posts are exactly endorsements of what Russia's doing. Seems to be more of an isolationist point of view, questioning getting involved. I'm not saying that's "right," but maybe more of a not my problem mentality. Not cool either, but wasn't most the Left sick of America being the World's Police just a few seconds ago? I can't keep up with all the flip flopping going around on all sides with this stuff.

I don't watch Faux news but I promise I won't tune it in if you promise to stop watching Don Lemon and those sweet sexy ladies on the view ok pardner?

This whole thing is a good wake up call for people that are keen on being friendly to and/or have "agreements" with Iran. Nukes in hands of evil governments curtail your response when shit hits the fan. You can probably predict what will happen when China takes Taiwan...not much more than you see with Russia today. So get your leaders to prepare now.

Something that is both horrible and awesome is the Ukrainian people. It doesn’t look like they have a desire to rollover

They appear to be fighting. They might make it too painful to be displaced

    I'd say they don't.

It's not a question of flip flopping because there are no plans to send U.S. troops into Ukraine. The issue is Tucker Carlson is on Russia’s side. Tucker supports Russia and even opposes nonviolent Russian sanctions. Tucker's defense of Putin is so helpful from a propaganda standpoint that Russian state television broadcasts his commentary along with Russian subtitles.

iran is closer to having nukes since the deal was turned off. we also have a gas shortage. diplomacy > bullets.

i also don’t think we should go in unless we have to. i am not sure what the line would be, war crimes against civilians? enforcing a no fly could be an idea, but i think we’d be sucked up into a war with russia pretty fast.

i wish we could give them a few thousand patriots and stingers about now though. funny how that is not interfering when putting up a bunch of f35s sort of does the same thing.

I’m only a quarter Ukrainian and my great grandparents left over a hundred years ago but it still makes me a little proud to see them fighting against those kinds of odds. In a way they’re fighting for all of us. Who knows if Putin has designs on Poland, Estonia etc but if he can’t consolidate his hold on Ukraine, further adventures will have to wait.

It would have been great if he were Ukrainian. Eastern European will have to do.
That’s not the best I have seen from him. But we do what we can

Hope y’all enjoyed a little break from the horror

Yes. And it really pissed Putin off. Ukrainians been killing shit in Crimea.

If Putin is not bat shit. I believe his real goal is to get Crimea uncontested

Everyone keeps saying he wants to install a new puppet government but no one can see that as a lasting reality

    That’s what tucker said

Yes...and in fact if you read down in the story it tells you that it was approved in 2014 after Crimea, but Obama Admin refused to supply. Trump did, two times. Does it matter who/how/what? Unknown...Just giving you facts that you asked for from NBC news. You are welcome in advance:

I just want to emphasize my No-Fly Zone suggestion is extremely risky if Russia challenges it militarily. To make it work almost guarantees escalatory steps in which retaliation is accepted by both sides without further escalation.

Such a scenario means NATO jets overtly shooting down Russian jets and helicopters. Russia could retaliate by striking NATO airbases or invading NATO airspace to shoot down AWACS. This means missiles flying over Romania, Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary closing down civilian air corridors. The rules of engagement would be very messy and dangerous and the potential for escalation is high. It would also require SEAD missions in Ukraine (strikes against Russian SAMs) to protect the No Fly CAP. That would end up ballooning over the border as Russia can cover 1/3 to 1/2 of Ukraine with S300s and equivalent based on the Russian side of the border or from the Black Sea Fleet, which it might be necessary to sink (one cruiser is 500 Russian casualties). S400s can cover most of Ukraine from Russia but they have fewer of those.

This is something to try only if NATO believes Russia must be fought now in a limited way to avoid a future and certain major conflict. Essentially NATO becoming the Ukrainian air force while not sending in armored formations to go toe-to-toe with the Ruskies is less risky than having to later fight toe-to-toe in the Baltics.

That'd be some risky shit to be putting NATO planes in the air over Ukraine. Even if it was just AA the idea of NATO shooting down Russian planes would be an escalation.

One can imagine how many arms smuggling/sales are going to be put into action because of this.

I told a bunch of people to fuck off with their Tucker Carlson bullshit on YT. Apparently I just believe everything CNN tells me and that "you know who" is to blame for this war.

Never underestimate the power of a people fighting for their freedom. Is that a saying? I feel like it is.

I'm not sure how I feel about watching it online and rooting for the Ukrainians while Russian soldiers die either though. I mean, if a really large chunk of the Russian population doesn't support this how do their troops feel about being forced into it? Do they believe in what they are doing? And now that I'm reading what I just wrote could give the Ukrainians enough to put up a damn good fight.

At this point how do you get arms into the hands of the people who need them where they need them? It’s gonna require support. Protection from Russian air power

Again I would like to see us say fuck it. And do it. But that’s just me.
