    6 Nations time

    Anyone else watching?
Ireland and France are my favorites going into it.
I'm not married to any team though. Like to watch the flow and talent a bit before I really decide who I like in this tournament.

I'd rather not talk about what happened in Dublin yesterday.
It's going to be Scotland's year.

That was a great tournament last year.
If I remember correctly though, Scotland won that for Wales. France beat Wales, but couldn't finish.
France and Ireland are both coming off wins over the All Blacks, which would build anyone's confidence.

    It was.
There's been a lot of talk about Wales not deserving the win, which is a bit of a stretch, but I see why.
    Ireland look devastating.
Going to watch France v Italy once I'm back from touring so no spoilers pls!

    Two fantastic games.
    And wales v Ireland.
Italians look like they're not going to be wooden spoon winners this year, either. As much as I hate to say it, it coukd be Wales.

    Italy looked pretty tough.
    France is HUGE. Good lord.

This is why 7's would have been my game, had I ever played. Ski season always kept me away.
My dad helped start my H.S. team- many years after I graduated, and he still coaches girls Rugby and ref's at 74.

    Good on him!
    The Italians defended incredibly well.
    So many big collisions.

France v Ireland will be a hell of a game.

I would not want to go up against any French player in any contact sport. Even the hooker is a specimen. He is as wide as he is tall. Never seen anything like it. I don't think these guys are Parisian.

Same as most European rugby countries. You can play for the country if you qualify through having a grandparent from the country.

Aldritt ( French no 8 ) is scarier. Not only is he pretty big, but he's quick too.

    No one else watching?
I figured there would be more people watching one of the best sporting competitions in the world...
    Maybe start with MLR?

I guess if it's not American it doesn't count, right? [emoji849]

It's just that nobody has figured out how to bring a Poliass angle to it yet but don't give up hope.

Honestly, though, I'm a fan of the game and played it in college and for a few years after, a fan of Ireland in anything they're in, watch sports on TV all the time, and I had no fuckin clue this was happening right now. They need to hire a PR guy or something.

I don't think, tbh they realise how big the American market could be for it.
Although the MLR is a stepping stone in the right direction.
Dazn has the rights if you're interested

One of the bigger rugby podcasts had a show about this recently...

Have to admit I'm surprised (but gratified) to see a TGR thread on it that isnt a subset of the Euro thread.

I think it can get pretty poliass in Eurp.

My dad was laying out all the new rules to me by text last night. I will try to post them up. Looking for a translation.
He is in Key West living his best life. Was out at a KW Rugby club event (prolly drinking), so had to watch on replay.

Drinking at a rugby event, whatever next!
I'd like to see those warthog. I thought Mike Adamson reffed the France Italy game really well, as did Ben O'Keefe the Scotland England game.

The 50:22 has really opened up space wide. That's one change that will have a positive effect on running rugby I think.

All the games look interesting this weekend.
I would love to see Italy beat England, but I'm not hopeful. England by 3 is as good as it's going to get.
Wales at home to Scotland will be a battle. I'm, unfortunately, going for Scotland by 10 though.
France at home to Ireland. Ireland to implode. France by at least 10.

I was out in Phoenix for business and skiing at Alta and the Bird afterward, catching up the next couple days.
    Loving Peacock replays.

Today's games were very good. Although I'm not stoked with the result, Wales v England was a great game.
    France are looking positively unbeatable.

France is in beast mode. Kinda how I felt from the beginning. They were showing their teeth last year, and apparently only got better and bigger.

    Highlights:
    3:50- sick steal
    7:00- Tons of huge hits.
    10:30- Awesome Irish Try.
    11:50- French beast try.
12:05- Ref almost dies a horrible death.

Entire game- amazing kicking. I am constantly amazed the NFL doesn't recruit more Ruggers for kicking. They kick at crazy angles, and they know how to hit if the shit has to go down.
