I guess it comes down to proper fit. Wrong shell or wrong liner seems to definitely be a problem. Also go get a proper fit. At home fitting doesn’t cut it. Why take short cuts, they are $500 liners so don’t cheap out in the end and skip a proper fit.
For the record, I didn't skimp out on anything. I had a proper fit by a well-known and lauded boot fitter. He was the one who added the first three tubes, noting, "Wow, these new Corsas have no cork in them!" He did the punching and grinding on my shells, heated the liners, and since then, I've added cork here and there because I tweak everything.

Out of curiosity, are you using the newest Corsa? If so, did they come as mine did devoid of OMFit? I ask because the OMFit, as noted by Sven himself, is the "magic" in a Zipfit. So if there is no OMFit, aren't you missing out?

We all have different anatomy. I have skinny ankles and large calves. My shell fit is snug, but without going to a plug I need to fill up some space around the ankle bone. I've added a lot of OMFit, but in the end, my boots are pretty dialed.

    older corsa.

and believe me I know we all have different anatomy which is why there are so many ski boots with different variations that will give different she fits for different people. I have a Lange foot, but if I didn’t I would ski a boot that fit my foot more naturally.

a guy was adament at the shop that he got put in a specific boot because of reviews and what he was told by buddies. Boot was absolutely incorrect for his feet, we warned him. Nine return trips for fitting and he finally gave in a listened to what we told him. 30 minutes of fitting and he was out the door. Only reason he came back after was to thank us and rave about his skiing.

I know it. When I returned to skiing after a long hiatus, I bought some new Technica boots because that was I skied before. Bad move. I gave them two days and then sold them straight away. I realized that I had been choosing poorly for years and needed to see a pro. Then I did a ton of research on bootfitters, booked an appointment with a guy across the country from me, and entrusted the entire process to him. Two flights later I had what I needed and now I couldn't be happier. Best money I ever spent.

I ask about the Corsa model, because I too have older Zipfits that I didn't have to add a drop of OMFit to. They were just dialed right away. The new Corsa, however, is essentially a thin leather shell that they ship empty of cork. At least that's how mine came, and judging by the number of other people who have talked about adding multiple tubes of OMFit to new Corsas, that seems to be the norm. They are marketing them as plug liners, but it would be nice if they at least threw a little cork in... either preinjected or with a couple of tubes in the bag.

they have cork in them when they come now. Just very little. It’s right on the website and you can call and ask them. Using a 92mm corsa in a 96mm shell is probably the biggest issue. The gara will fit better.

The corsa is for 92mm boots, heck I ski Gara LVs in 92mm boots

I don't dispute that the Gara LV is probably a better fit. It's just not leather.

I've started to wonder if a Workhorse might even be a better fit. They claim it is high volume, but that is because of the amount of OMFit. If most of the cork was removed, it might work well.

ya so back to my original comment that this all starts with the wrong liner and shell combo or wrong shell fit to begin with. Thanks for playing.

Have Gara LV in a Lange RS120 and heated bag is key, just slides right in with no issues, plus your foot stays much warmer. I once took the liner out at lunch and it was a major PITA getting it back in. I have added some of the slippery tape to help if I ever need to take a liner out mid day, but these are so much better than other liners I never really think about doing that.

Or, as Zipfit themselves say, "While the Corsa comes pre-packed with less cork, skiers can always add more cork to the tongue or ankle pockets to dial in their perfect fit."

IDK, I'm in a hawx ultra 26.5. I wear a 10.5 shoe, and I have a 1 finger shell fit. So my only options are going to 25.5 with a bunch of work, or moving to a super stiff race boot with a bunch of work. I actually do have super skinny ankles with skinny heels. Looking back I should have bought the gara hv, and saved a bunch of money on cork.

Whoop de doo. It’s called different feet.

I just got Lange ZBs, put in a Hawx Ultra Mimic liner and stuck 1/4” padding on the tongue at the face of the ankle and my ankle finally feels locked in. People are different.

Also keep in mind that most of the liners can offer essentially the same fit so it’s really no big deal with which liner you start with.

You obviously have medium high volume ankles. Those are roomy boots and you aren’t adding any cork to a low volume liner. Not everyone can find this same fit.

I’m still happily rocking a pair of those same ones; though mine have a black sole, and the red toe patch is smaller. They’re now on their 5th shells. (Vulcans, 2 XT-free, XT3 and now Shadow)

I was also just about to post and ask the same Q’s.

For future reference, I'm pretty sure that is the World Cup SE.

Maybe they're similar to the current Gara HV? They have 20% more cork than the Gara from years back according to the video below ~3m30s - 4m30s mark.

Which gen Corsa do I have here? Got it used here on GS, didn’t know there were two generations until I read the past few pages.

Personally I couldn’t add any volume to these liners the way my shell is fit. But I question the ‘’wisdom’’ of how tight my boot fit is for the type of skiing I do.

FYI a tiny spritz of Silicone spray really helps with the in & out into shells. The key is tiny.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

    Att zipfit gurus!

My stupid stoner ass keeps forgetting to use the boot horn this season and I think that’s where the scuffing came from. I didn’t have this problem the previous 8 seasons, I used the boot horn to prevent heel wear on my intuitions.

Looks like the previous generation Corsa. New Corsa came out last year with lower volume and removable tongue.

FYI- Balking at the price of a heated boot bag… I put some $40 AMZN boot dryers/heaters in my zips/boots and shoved them in my existing boot bag… Good decision.
