Yesterday Mrs. Vets and I were hiking near Willow Creek with the dogs. We had a nice view of Roundtop. It looked like there were good skiable patches.
So today I went on a solo recon mission to Roundtop and the Sisters.
I did a loop that allowed me to explore 4 different patches. I started at Woods Lake. I hiked up the trail to Winnemucca Lake. From there I worked my way up to a patch below Roundtop. Here is a picture I took using the timer function on my digital camera:

I am celebrating my 23rd consecutive month of skiing. Winnemucca Lake is in the background.
Next, I hiked up to the "W" patch.

The throat of this little chute was as wide as the length of my skis, 188cm.

Then I skied the patch in the saddle between Roundtop and the Sisters. From there I did a traverse hike to what is left of the Sisters chutes.

I'm glad that I went up today. It sure felt good.
