You'd think all those billionaires would've learned something from Mad Max and be snapping up dugouts in Coober Pedy instead of farmhouses in NZ, especially at those bargain basement prices, but nope.

Though if I had to choose between living in post-nuclear wasteland Coober Pedy or instant nuclear annihilation, the big, bright flash becomes a very appealing choice.

Watched a show that featured Maralinga area. The soil has a nice plutonium top layer. Pretty close the Coober Pedy I think.

About a 540 km (335 mi), 8-9 hour drive, which in Australian distances is practically next door. For comparison, Nevada Test Site to Vegas is around 100 kms (65 mi).

This place is deceptively big. And also full of cheap underground crap shacks apparently.
