Hey Brit, look whose still on top of the world inspite of our current criminally inept leadership, disasters, and debacles.

Armed citizens came in handy when we kicked your asses back in the Revolution.

The criminals with automatic weapons are breaking existing gun laws. In fact, reports I've heard are that the criminal gangs looted abandoned police armories (remember the majority of the NOPD is gone).

Like I said, our Bill of Rights, keep your nose out of it, redcoat. I don't try to tell your paparazzi how to take naughty pictures of your royal family...

This guy is exercising his right to bear a Red Ryder (that's a BB gun).

    ----------------------------------

Another great example of clusters at all levels of government... NOLA had busses... *HAD*

~200 busses just in that picture... 40-50/bus... 80,000-100,000...
Mayor of NOLA is doing a great lobbying job now... his voters will kick his ass later...

    ----------------

News Report: Firefighters and their families are pinned down in a building St. Bernards Parish. Snipers are firing on their building and won't let anyone leave or anyone rescue. Reports are one sherrif dead...

Those would be the perfect solution... should scare the scum back into their holes... assuming we have any left that haven't been sent to the sandbox.

you guys voted him in- not once, but twice mind you! you would have thought it didn't go so well the first go round and now you're whining and snivelling that your commander-in-chief is fucking up yet again. oh, what a surprise!! all the americans i meet up here in canada are awesome people and are ashamed that Bush is the president, and i'm talking pretty well 100%, so how in hell did he get re-elected- oh yeah that weird electoral college thing. i thought that would go the way of the dodo bird after the chads in florida-hey-let's-buy-the-election and see if anybody notices trouncing of al Gore. BUT NOOOOO! same old, same old, don't you people ever learn? this new orleans fiasco looks like something outta the third world. as if you guys need to be the laughing stock of the world twice in the same 365 day period. you better find out some way to impeach him and fast before he pulls his next trick.

I work near an Air National Guard/Navy Reserve Air base. Today I was talking with one of the Gurdmen there, and he was wondering why he wasn't deployed to NOLA to help out. Every day I see C-130's (huge fucking cargo planes) flying in and out of the place. I'm sure if the local news outlets announced that the Red Cross or Salvation Army or whatever was trying to send a plane of supplies to the Delta, people would have it filled in six hours.

On behalf of the rest of Canada, would you please
    SHUT THE FUCK UP?

Collectivizing the people of another country and kicking them when they're in the middle of a national catastrophe is a classless, graceless thing to do. No matter what you think of W (and I think very little) there comes a time when you keep your mouth shut and as a nation do whatever you can to help. This is one of those times.

He actually won the election the second time around. He got in the first time because of the A: Electoral College and B: that cunt Katherine Harris basically blocked democracy from happenning.

Err...been watching Fox News. Everyone seems to be placing much of the blame for the tardiness of the response on the governer of LA. They say W declaired a state of emergency in LA after Katrina hit Florida as a Cat. 1 and started brewing in the gulf, allowing the governer to have access to federal help. But she did nothing. I've heard from friends in northern LA that everytime she gets on TV she just starts crying. I'm not trying to say nothin about nothin, but I think this is a bad way to act for anyone in power. She appears, simply, to be way under qualified for the job she has.

For the first time ever, I find myself respecting Bill O'reilly. Hear me out. He's taking phone calls and video feeds from the reporters in the field, finding out where they are, and communicating this with the military. I've been news mongering for the past few days and this is the first time anything of this nature has been done by the media. He's also doing a great job of keeping Geraldo from having an aneurism.

I'll defer to your arguments, but you must know that weed is no where even close to being basically legal in Canada ( and won't be as long as Dubya is prez) One could only dream that it was.

Interesting, it looks as if Bush may have been the one that urged the inept Blanco to order the evacuation: CNN story here

If true, then it is really scary that the officials in Lousiana may not have ordered an evacuation.

She will be out of office in about 2-4 weeks.

    Which call was that?

    W:Hey God, me again.
God: Oh what do you want this time?
W: Well, I was wondering if you could, I dunno, maybe just put a cancel on this hurricane. I sure would appreciate it.
God: Hmm, I would Georgy, but the thing is, I've got this luncheon with Buddah and the Flying Spaghetti Monster in a half an hour and that would really take up the rest of the day.
W: I don't think that's going to work for me. You know, Cheney is going to be up there in a bit, and I don't think he would be too happy with you if you were to go ahead with this deal. I pretty sure you don't want to piss him off -- he can be a real dick. Hehe...
God: Yeah, you're probably right. Well, I guess I'll see what I can do.
W: Thats more like it. Thanks big G, I owe you one.
God: (sigh) Don't worry about it.
    W: [hangs up]
God: Jesus, I hate that motherfucker.
Jesus: Tell me about it, Dad.

A state of emergency allows FEMA to coordinate disaster relief - the "tardiness" is things like FEMA sending supplies apropriate for a chemical weapons attack, requiring all requests for aid to routed through Washington, or denying the requests from Louisisana officials. Of course FEMA is run by Republicans, and the Governor of Louisiana is a Democrat, but I'm sure that didn't colour FOXNEWS reporting.
