Also, I'm looking for some skinny-ish skis. 90ish waist. 175ish length. Anyone selling? Seeing any deals? Recs? Prefer skis that are sturdy with a long radius but not too locked in. Don't need the lightest.

There’s a ton of 88mm options out there, that width being popular in Europe for the maritime snow. K2 Wayback 88 is always solid, versatile and decent price. Would be my no-brainer, slam-dunk recommendation. Available in 174 cm.

Also the old Volkl VTA 88 (not lite) that’s now the Rise Above 88, probably a tad more demanding and higher performance than the Wayback. Caveat that I’ve only got armchair internet research experience with these, other than being on the OG full-camber Waybacks from way back in ‘10 or something.

Wayback 96 highly recommended if you want a bit more float/smeary feeling but still good on ice.

I just ordered a pair of the 181 wayback 88 with the precut pomaco skins from alpine store for $560 shipped. They have the 174 as well. Shipping FedEx from France, will see how long it takes.

Dang- if anyone sees a pair of skorpius in a 26, I’d be very interested….

Skorpius appears to go Boa for next year… which makes me less interested as I have a strong preference for instep buckles… I’m in process of buying a new house in a few weeks so I’m kinda pinching pennies but I might need to make it happen.

OTOH, apparently according to skimo.co they addressed the tongue durability issues. But yeah, Boa, sigh.

My understanding is they beefed up the tongue in the past year somehow
Not sure how I feel about this either. Ive got about 10 days on the current Skorpius and I am blown away by this boot, and I am a big dude (6’5, 220lb without gear). It walks soo well and has no problem pushing a 189 Kastle tx103. The instep buckle and overall boot design in general is just so seamless and intuitive.
I’ve vowed to never buy another fly fishing boot with boa due to multiple issues. Hard to envision ever wanting it on my ski boots.
How frequent do those tongues break as a guess?

This exactly. Getting them on and off is hard for me as well, and probably when the tongue is most susceptible to breaking. Making sure the tongue and shell are all lined up correctly is key, as it’s pretty easy to have it backwards and deform the shell pieces.
Once they are on, really no complaints at all, and the walk mode is so clean and simple.
I also ski them without the booster strap. Flex feels more progressive and one less thing to deal with.
PM’d you

Selling two items for this crowd:
Selling Titan vario 2s (RV 7-9) for $370, used 5-7 times
Selling Blizzard zero g 85s / 171cm for $430, bnip
Checking to see on F1 LT sizing. My original (99 mm width) 27.5 TLT6s fit fine, 26.5 Vulcans ok with a punch for length, and had but never used some F1s in a 26.5/27. I’m guessing F1 LT in a 26.5/27 would be the right size, but don’t have a chance to put my feet in them. Thoughts/experiences?

If 27.5 TLT6 fit you well then 27.5/28.0 F1 LT is the most similar
