Portillo update from DT and the Vikings

8/31 - We did get on snow today. We got up here late last night after another long day of dealing. We managed to cram everyon into one van and got permission to bring the others up here. So the van left at four and drove up to the control gate where we waiting for a couple of hours with a bunch of other busses and truckers. At about 7:30 the opened the road, but only for the portillo buses. then it took about another hour to get up and another to check in. They got two meters from the storm, but the wind got to it last night and messed it up pretty good. It's kind of crusty and firm, but still really fun. Mattias shot from across the valley as the photo monkeys skied big lines. I think we got some stuff. I mainly just skied around with kip. It was nice to be on snow, but my legs are definitely not mid-winter legs. Better shots to come. -KD
